So I bought the fan and the Kingston RAM I mentioned earlier. RAM is in...

But now I see that the MOBO only has one specific fan header, to plug in a case fan...

So now I have another case fan that I wanted to put on my side panel... Is there any other place on the MOBO I could improvise putting the header in or what else can I do? Or am I ****ed?

P.S Should I rather have an intake fan or an exhaust fan if I can only use one?

Get yourself one of these. Gives you access to 5 fans.

And if you have only the one, I'd have it as an intake in the front of the case if there's gaps and such that it can actually get air. If not, use it as an exhaust at the back of the case.

Good job man, awesome.

I think you'll find an SSD mount on the back side of the case, should be able to mount it there so it isn't loose or cable tied.
:) I thought so too but it was a no-go. Presumably because of all the slots that were in that crappy looking scaffold I removed below the HDD slots.

Looks much cleaner this way and you can't really see my hack-job unless you open the front or top of the case. Should probably upgrade to M.2 at some point but I really hate getting rid of perfectly good components. Maybe I can stretch these SSD's another 10 years.

Ah bummer. Still, if it's invisible then you're sorted.

Also, no need to get rid of perfectly good components, just add to them.

Quick question, where the hell do you put that box thing where the fan headers are supposed to go in the case?

I currently have one already at the back, blowing air in. So I should change that one so it blows air out and not in?

Mine is just at the back. So it connects to the fan header and then the fans connect to it.

Yes, you want to extract the hot air from the case so it should be blowing out if its at the back.

Wow those used to be 79 bucks, I have one stuck to my deep cool case

Can you actually control individual fan speeds with this thing and if so does one do so with software from deepcool?

edit: OK so matrixwarehouse have more info on their page for this.
"Each port has its own PWM function and the fan speed can be adjusted at the same time, but only the speed of Fan 1 can be identified by the system."

This implies that you can adjust individual fan speeds.

You cannot adjust individual fan speeds from my experience, unless I missed that somehow. It's getting the data from a single PWM header so I don't see how you would do it. In my experience, adjusting the fan speed affects every fan on the hub.

Took the old exhaust fan off my old case, snapped the Deep cool fan headers off so front fans now run the off the same header sys fan 1. Back of case looks worse now. That raid max fan is analog so can't sync it properly but oh wellIMG_20221001_173248.jpg

Nope it is all controlled by the fan header it is plugged into

The Intel A770 and A750 reviews are in by the loads, but I am underwhelmed by it. Brings some new things to the table, but being bad at DX9 and Vulkan it sucks imho. There were a time reviewers made a deal about lower range GPUs being aimed at esports, but suddenly it doesn't matter with Intel. Eh… Still though, should you not play older and Vulkan titles then it is probably a good buy, pending on RX 6650 XT pricing… and the used market.

Anyhow, curious how it will be priced here. I do expect Battlemage to provide better support than Alchemist. Intel's next generation run may be a real game changer or as 'badly' priced* as their competitors.

*At least AMD is still undercutting Nvidia, but that might also soon change.

It’s first-gen, so didn’t expect it to blow away the two who have duopolised the market for the last 30 years. But, it’s definitely ruffling their feathers, which is a good thing for us.

I still have no idea if ARC is actually dead, and these are just cards that already existed that are being sold.
Are we even going to see Battlemage?

Intel dismissed the rumours some time ago. These were allegations made by Igor Wallossek. Since then, Acer has announced their entry as AIB partner,

Battlemage is when Intel will have my attention. Even at Alchemist's price point, it is a bad 'esports' product, but it doesn't make it a bad overall product. It is only that I am not in the market, I play various DX9 and Vulkan (which isn't a dated API) titles.

Who knows how AMD and Nvidia will respond, both AMD and Nvidia, more so AMD, have rebadged GPUs in the past to compete in lower segments. At least we will have proper price wars now, but the global economy is in a bad state, so eh, realisable improvements to consumer-aware pricing could still take some time…

For sure Intel is taking a knock at this price point. Best to keep an eye on whether the MSRP will be sustainable. Never trust the MSRP, it only serves as an indicator.

I'd an look at more A770/750 reviews. In some games, it does well with Vulkan, but doesn't scale. I guess developers and Intel have a long road ahead to improve this. So I guess it's only DX9 that it sucks balls at. I guess it's best to wait until the GPUs go to the market to see how the GPU does then, a week to go.

Gamers Nexus put out a negative review. Digital Foundry was impressed by it. Paul's Hardware gave them their approval. Linus supports it, but showed critique. Hardware Unboxed, said that it's terrible, but DOA. So it goes on.

In my view, it is best to review these in Q1 2023.

General consensus seems to be, "meh, could be better but not terrible. Let's hope drivers fix things."

The A770 is a good 1440p card, barring instability or driver-related nonsense. I hope they do get some adopters, it's the only real way to get the driver work moving swiftly.
