Nope Crucial
Damn, that was going to be my second guess. Have had a few of those fail as well.
Since then I've been sticking to HP, WD Blue, Kingston and Samsung drives and had almost no issues.

Nope Crucial
Pretty weirdCan I hazard a guess - it's a Mushkin SSD?
They sell them at rock bottom prices, but it's my only criticism so far of Wootware: They're punting Mushkin SSDs (which appears to be more prone to failure than most) - and I've had several fail on me so rather paid in extra the last time to get another brand.
I've got a mushkin in my gaming PC and it's been great for almost 2 years, thought hey Crucial memory ain't to bad, but apparently their SSDs are a bit hit and miss.Damn, that was going to be my second guess. Have had a few of those fail as well.

Guess I hit the unlucky RNGPretty weird
I've been exclusively using their Mushkin drives in all of my builds
I've probably got 9 or 10 Mushkin drives which I've been using since 2018 and they're all running happy in various laptops, desktops, etc.
That was my experience as well - the 3 that failed were within the first year.Mushkin drives do seem to have a high failure rate but somebody on the forum told me that if they do fail, they fail early.
My original 256gb Samsung Evo from 2012 is still running, I mean it's like a beast, though the laptop isn't used that much anymore. Also have a Mushkin SSD in my gaming PC, no issues. Also have a HP EX900, also running great for the last 2 years or so.
Me twoI've had one of these since 2012 (maybe 2013?). It started it's life as the Windows and programs disk in my main PC. Many years later, it moved over to the kids PC. Still going strong...![]()

What environment do you use them in that you use so many SSDs?
On that case remember to ask for an exhaust fan on the back, Otherwise you only get the two on the front. You can also go with the Phanteks PH-EC400ATG_DBK01 (R1,549.00) instead which has 3 front.
Thanks, i have a 1050ti (dont laugh) in a Dell optiplex atm.On that case remember to ask for an exhaust fan on the back, Otherwise you only get the two on the front. You can also go with the Phanteks PH-EC400ATG_DBK01 (R1,549.00) instead which has 3 front.
I'd spend more on the GPU now if I were you, it's the defining factor for gaming performance. Get a 5600X and a 6600XT rather, if you can. Thanks, i have a 1050ti (dont laugh) in a Dell optiplex atm.
The majority of my gaming is dota 2 and i usually have a oldish AAA title in rotation. I wont upgrade for a long time
So thinking of going for this build with the 5700X rather for longevity and then saving up for a higher end GPU and 32GB RAM further down the line. But only AFTER Raptorlake is out (hoping for further price drops)
With cooler it comes to around R13k, save up for the GPU and RAM over the next year and have something that will be good for a long time

Been almost 10 years since my first build with help from peeps on this forum. Mobo finally gave out 2 weeks ago and decided it was time for round number 2, this time with AMD:
Ryzen 5 5600
CoolerMaster Hyper H410R (Carried over)
Asus Prime B550 Plus
Radeon RX570 (Upgraded bout 2 years ago)
16GB G.Skill DDR4 3600
Corsair RM550x PSU
4x Scythe Kaze Flex 120mm Case Fans
SSD's still chuggin along but cable tied now to the same case to make space for fans.
Obviously a pretty budget build but I'm not really a heavy user. Took me the whole of yesterday to figure everything out but doing it yourself is super rewarding in the end.
