Just bought a 750w power supply for 999. That should last a long time..
Probably a 80+ white. 80+ gold is where its at.
When it comes to psu its not a question of bigger is better. You will only need a larger psu while running more than one gpu. Generally most psu have an optimum efficiency at around 40% power consumption. It also helps keep the fan in the lower rpm bracket. (Quieter is always better in my opinion) Go here http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp and see where you are sitting percent wise. Then choose your wattage of psu. Decide on a brand, and then check the data sheet for its optimum efficiency curve.
