So RX 4xx prices should drop significantly as the new cards are apparently just a refresh of sorts.

Vega will definitely be overkill, as I reckon it's probably the new "Fury" line which will be aimed at taking on the the 1080/ti's.

I speak under correction but vega is a new architecture and I think it's gonna start with the high end market. The RX 4 cards already cover the lower and midrange space.
 
Does anyone have a old AM3 cooler mounting bracket they're not using anymore or know where I can buy one?

I'm planning to use a H110i AIO on my Ryzen build when it arrives but it doesn't come with the AM4 bracket and Corsair cancelled my order for the AM4 bracket because they don't ship to freight forwarders :mad:

New cards being the RX 5xx, which from what I've read aren't Vega. I imagine they'll take over from the 480 and take on the 1070-1080 bracket, sort of like the 390 did against the 970 and 980. Vega will use HBM2 iirc, and will indeed be high end, taking on the 1080ti, just like Fury went up against the 980ti.

So now that the Ryzen range is out, has anyone noticed a decrease in the price of previous gen hardware? Still on the lookout for a new rig (at a decent price) :)

Seen random price drops on Intel chips from certain vendors. Most surprising thing, though, is that (at least over here in the UK) Kabylake is still cheaper than Skylake for some reason. Sometimes £20 cheaper.
 
Is it better to wait ~3 months for ryzen R5 and mid level motherboards for a budget build gaming pc (R15k budget) or go with what's on the market currently?

Best to wait.
Once these chips hit the market, the price of the other chips will change.

Can you play games at all now? If so, waiting is a good idea...Ryzen 5 is set to launch mid-April. Even if you don't get Ryzen, at least you'll know you made a choice at the time after considering all the options (I say this because depending on what pricing is like in a month, it might still make sense to buy Intel).
