The PC Build Thread

I ordered all the components for a complete build from PC Link on the 1st of May. They started processing orders on the 4th and I received a message from them on the 6th that my payment was received and my order was processed by their supplier. They also said delivery should take 2-5 working days. I hope they stick to their word. I really can't afford mayor delays.

I'm using a borrowed psu, and can't keep it too long. Otherwise I'll just bite the bullet and pay extra for the one at takealot.

Evetech min one week before shipping. You can't call then, don't think they are accepting calls, evetech is also not accepting calls.
I ordered a laptop (in stock with Evetech) from them on Wednesday, payment received on Thursday, shipped on Friday.
I hope to get it tomorrow.

Aramex tracking is broken, my parcel never moved after it was in pta from evetech. But today it is out for delivery! This is not my monitor, but hopefully that comes soon.

I'll give them a call and find out. What's the backlog at Evetech like?
I ordered on the 1st, still no delivery. Takealot has been good with their deliveries though, maybe check them out. Matrix is also open if you feel like venturing out.

Thanks. Placed order with Evetech. Will wait it out. My friend said I can keep using his Psu until mine arrives.

Info - Geewiz are also trading / delivering. Though their courier didn't know what contactless delivery is :cautious:

The delivery thing, I assume? Driver asked me to sign for the package...first time I've been asked for that since the early days of lock-down. Other couriers don't go beyond making sure they contact someone at the delivery address (which is fine by me) - one company got fancy and sms'd me a pin I had to give the driver. Beyond that, it's been a case of go outside and wait for the driver to get the box out and put it down then wave to him as he leaves before collecting the package.

Not a big deal or anything but surprising that the courier is still doing things the "old-fashioned" way.

Can anyone recommend a wifi booster? I've got a the dual band dlink that telkom suplies but there are spots in the house that even the 2.4Ghz is struggling to reach.

Mesh would be one way to go, or use an older router hooked in via a cable.

Gaming chair is ready!

How are you going to sit in that? I mean I like laying down like the best of them, but when working or gaming I like sitting up :-).
Looks really nice though, hope it's comfy, I'm using some ancient chair from a buddy, but it is comfy and matches my old desk :-)

Just sitting on it now, much higher than my previous cheapie. Its on the lowest setting, so just getting use to it now.

Might lay down soon :P

An annoyance, just tried to get my Tascam US-144 MKII, an audio interface, working on WIN10 - no such luck, works on my laptop with Win8.1 installed - sigh.
