The i9 9900K is more expensive than the 5600X, and slower.
If you want something cheaper, the 3600 is actually pretty cheap and will only be slightly slower than the 9900K when it comes to scrolling through develop mode. That will leave you with an upgrade path to the 5600X later if you want.

When just randomly making adjustments as fast as I can on a 22MP file on my 3700X, I notice no delay between me applying it, and it reflecting on the image.
I'm curious about what difference the less L3 cache I have makes. What do you get on your CPU in R23?

Thoughts on the HS70s? Been eyeing them out but haven't pulled the trigger yet....

The headphones feel premium, they’re very well built and I find them very comfortable over long periods of use. They don’t get too hot and the clamping force isn’t too heavy so they don’t squeeze your head, but it’s tight enough that they don’t fall off.

The mic quality isn’t great. It’s clear, but very tinny, not much bass at all. When I switched to them everyone on discord noticed and asked what’s up. And that’s coming from cheapo Marvo headphones.

Haven’t yet found an equalizer for the mic, though I’m sure they exist. It isn’t bad though, just something to note.

Wireless range seems hot or miss. Walking 6m away loses signal, though that’s with walls in the way. With line of sight they’d probably go a lot further.

Edit: also, the mic being detachable is nice when you’re just watching something and don’t want it in the way. You could theoretically use a mic from the Voids are something like that I imagine, but the plug is proprietary so you’d have to double check the shape.

Just random test.

I see my memory is clocking in at 2133mhz. CPU PBO is turned off as well.

Want to play around and see the scores when i turn everything on again.

That's about 3000 points more than the 3700X and 4700G - I believe it is 50/50 down to the higher clock speed and Zen3 VS Zen2.

I hope the newer Zen3 APUs will be coming out soon.

Just for completeness sake, here is my single threaded performance (300 points lower)- although I hardly see the point.
Well, unless it is hosting Xonotic, and there I found the AMD A10 (bulldozer) lacking and the Ryzen 5 just right.

Nice going Core #3 klapping 4.5Ghz

Could be wrong, but i believe even 100 points in single-core CB23 is quite a lot of performance.
Then again, these are only synthetic benchmarks, real-world is a totally different comparison

Completed my first build yesterday! Was definitely an experience. Luckily I tested the parts before putting them in the case. Once they were in, I couldn't get any display, but it was due to a misaligned standoff (I think). All good now though!

Ah okay a budget pleb build. Nice one man.

What’s your cooling solution in terms of case fans?
