If aint buying rtx, you wasting money :p

RTX and DLSS just can't be matched atm, through dlss does not work on 1080p only 1440p or higher
It's still in early adopter phase...I thank everyone paying the tax for us though

There hasn't been a good value graphics card released since Pascal (or the RXx80 on the red side).

RTX on anything lower than a 2080Ti / 3070 is a waste of time IMO.
DLSS is great though, and I disagree with you that it doesn't work at 1080p, it's just not THAT effective. Game support is still lacking though.

So true. If you have a 1060, 480 or 580, keep it until it breaks or the graphics card market returns to normal!

Most people play it on low at 1280*960...that's how much people want high feamerates.

I would try for whatever settings get you above 200fps to maximize input response (feel).

I doubt he's getting anything better than a 1080p60 monitor, so there's limited benefit to running it over 60Hz.

Also, "most people" probably means most people who take their CS GO very seriously.

There's a massive difference between playing at 300fps vs 60fps even if it's on a 60Hz panel

I'm not a serious player, playing at low fps though is very noticeable and frustrating.

For most games, I'd go along with that but CSGO is based on a very old engine with some peculiarities. Mouse input gets interpreted by the game engine at the framerate the game is running at (in layman's terms) so the higher the framerate the more accurate and smoother the mouse movements become.

It's a vagary of that one game but an important one.

What's a mid/high Intel PC build these days? Decent mobo etc. No Overclocking so non K is perfect. GPU wise I was thinking 3060ti.

Also where can I get solid Screen mounting arms in CPT?

Budget around R30k all in

You're not getting a high-end build for R30k these days, but can do a mid-range.

Any reason you want Intel specifically?

Also, 1080P or higher?

I haven't played in awhile but I did graduate to 1920*1440 on a 1440p monitor because it looks so nice and still runs fast enough on decent hardware.

Same as the amd build above, just swap the 5600x for an 11400(F) or similar and MB of your liking

Gaming will be light weight. 4k dota.

This build will be primarily for custom medical software, I know the software has been optimised for Intel and all work systems are Intel based too. So long story short I'm not going to gamble with AMD at this point even though Intel is not seen as value for money for the avg user.

I'm more curious what the mobo recommendations will be at this point. I was thinking of an Intel 11700, 16gb ram, M2 SSD, etc... all driving a wall mounted tripple monitor setup.

Edit: The monitor budget is separate from the R30k

Ok so we a small development team and they told me they thinking of getting a new server. Currently we using an old equvalent i7-3770 xeon server and a bit dated. There will be Virtual machines run via hyper-v for testing and other stuff so was thinking of getting a PC instead as a server is way to expensive. We not to worried of uptime etc.

Is it a good idea to do it? I know many desktop motherboards don't have ECC support but that's not such a big deal and by the time we going to buy it DDR5 will be out and it has ECC sort of build in as a standard

Correct, while you can't actually see the extra frames because of the monitor's refresh rate the increased framerate helps with general smoothness of gameplay as well as input lag, etc.
