I see all the XFX 6600XT 's went up and you can't even buy the cheapest one on its own anymore...have to get a CPU, motherboard and RAM (none of which you save any money on).

Super attractive offer that.

Correct at evetech was 8k launch, the guys discovered how good they are at mining

I just added the 8899 one to my cart for interest sale and it took me to checkout showing R8899 total.
or am I missing a cheaper one?

32gb Def almost needed this day, PC sits around 10 to 11gb use with office apps open and chrome tabs lol
 
Here's something weird...my pc is stable with memory @ 3733mhz, infinity fabric (fclk) 1867 and mclk 1867 (the 1-1-1 AMD says to aim for). Last night I decided to take 3800mhz for a spin - it just refused to post. Even with the memory set all the way down to 2133, the CPU (or BIOS maybe) would not work with fclk set to 1900. So I'm thinking, meh - bad luck with the silicon lottery, this CPU doesn't work at 1900mhz fclk.

Then I tried fclk @ 1933 and lo and behold, it's alive. Only problem is, the memory doesn't want to boot at 3866 - even with all timings set to auto and geardown mode enabled. So that's a new thing to figure out on the weekend - might need some more voltage or command rate 2t maybe.

Pretty weird that a lower infinity fabric frequency doesn't work but the next step up does.

Trash auto-timings with memory at 3600Mhz and fclk @ 1933 -

Try setting your vsoc voltage to 1.0 or 1.1V. I heard that higher is not better so 1.0v is best
 
I have a Ryzen 1600AF and a RX570 8GB GPU. Running Far Cry 5 on Ultra I am getting around 60FPS. CPU usage maxes between 80-90% on all cores, GPU is 100%. This indicates that the CPU and GPU is balanced? So in general the CPU will hold back a better GPU?

The GPU temp maxes at 70C with an aggressive fan profile I set, the CPU maxes at 76C. This seems fine for the CPU? No need for a better cooler on it?

Yes that's good balance but cpu getting near limit
