I've set my case and cpu fans to be 10% more aggressive which already dropped the gpu's temp. There' always google/reddit and msi afterbuner with its fan curve.

Are you running tools like gpuz, coretemp or hwinfo to monitor?
Have all of those, I'm not running them daily because I don't have an issue with temps. Maybe I gave that impression - my PC runs beautifully and temps are all looking pretty damn good. My post was more a warning regarding the 2-fan card he was looking at.

I haven’t because I don’t struggle with cooling. But my setup is probably better than the average and it’s a good card. I can’t imagine a 2-fan setup coping too well.

I’ll try it later though, maybe I can squeeze some temps out of it to make it even betterer

Lazy. Just do it.

It's the efficiency that interests me...I think of it like putting the GPU on the Adkins diet or something.

It's like they say, you can't lead a horse to break what ain't fixed in a glass house.

Oooi how about sharing 1 or 2 with your fellow gamers here :sneaky:

Get a hold of yourself...it's literally day one. The fire sale hasn't even started yet :D

We trend a couple months behind the States when it comes to pricing - here's the kind of thing going on there.

That's like a 7.5 grand monitor going by other 27" 1440p VA 165hz models available here.

More money for Jensen...they can churn out more Founders edition stuff if the other board partners don't take up the slack (which they probably will).

I bet some MBA type is sitting there at Nvidia talking about vertical integration.

Okay, here goes once again, Foster Son is pretty good with Blender, and am considering buying/building a new box for him.

What would a decent box need for Blender.

Let's see, what you guys recommend, then between my Son and myself, will try and get him something a lot better than he currently has.

Thanks

Think there's a few sites that list GPU benchmarks for cycles & eevee (blenders render engines). Might be a good starting place.

So you want a Nvidia GPU for starters, 32gb ram is plenty and CPU is up to you.

Imho 32g is the minimun if you start a new rig in 2022.

Many thanks, will check this out carefully.

If you're going to jam Rust while your browser is open - yes definitely.
Other than that, I'm yet to have an issue where 16gb is not enough.

Ideally I'd go for 2x 8gb DDR5, and then get another 2x 8gb DDR5 later (when prices are down).
Does require a motherboard with 4 RAM slots though.

I wish I could say 16 wasn't enough... :crying:

Was planning on buying a EVGA RTX 3060 Ti and cannot find stock anywhere

Anyone know if stock is coming soon or where to find
Plenty of 3060 Ti’s available, no reason to be limiting yourself to EVGA
