waddup peeps. Is the merit to waiting for AM5 to fully launch and then building an AM4 system (highish end) on the cheap

TIA ?
Perhaps, especially if you’re buying used, but iirc AMD is saying that even the Ryzen 7600 will be close to the 12900k for gaming.

If you ever have insomnia, just put on a Jensen presentation.

Odd that they didn't show any actual performance benchmarks.

Even their DLSS 3.0 presentation only showed DLSS Off vs DLSS 3.0 enabled. Not DLSS 2.0 vs DLSS 3.0.

The 970, 1070, 2070 and 3070 all came with 256 bit memory buses...this 4080 12Gb is like xx60 class by comparison. Unless the next model down (4070, 4070 Ti) is also crippled somehow, this card is going to look like a price-performance embarrassment come independent benchmarks.

970 MSRP $329
1070 $379
2070 $499
3070 $499 (still hasn't reached this price btw)
"4080" $899

How many leather jackets does this man need? Smh.

Edit: 4080 12Gb has 21% fewer cores, 25% lower memory bandwidth, 11% lower power target than the 16Gb...same model name though

Anything X080 has always been a beast, 192bit is definitely not what you would think of when thinking of a X080 card.

Wtf, the 4080 12gb has less cuda cores than the 16gb….

So not a 4080 then….

Scummy marketing to show “look how fast the 4080 is”, so they can then sell the “4080”

Yet I will still “support” them by buying product if I think it’s worth it :X3:

That's the conundrum...be like EVGA :D

That guy would rather burn 80% of his business to the ground than deal with leather jacket man. I can see why.
