Any guidance on second hand builds ? Facebook ads are shady at best and have to be cautious.
Carbonite would be your best bet. Even if you just get a few parts from there or something like that.

Hi Guys

Questioning CPU choice cause of cost specifically the lack of good intel motherboards with good IO compared to AMD (AM4) motherboards

But is this a good choice ? Was looking at an Intel i5 13400 or 13500 is AMD close or can be better ?

6 Cores would be okay but would like 8

Thanks

What is your budget?

What are you going to use the PC for?

Budget is around 20k can stretch it to 22k

Will use the PC for gaming some work with VMs hence the extra cores needed general use

Currently have a 6 Core i7 laptop with a 1050Ti but fan died so cannot use it for anything stressful

Gaming would be around 1440p and 4K if possible

Thanks

There were 2 question marks :p

Assuming gaming:

Intel 13400 vs and 7600 is going to be much of a muchness paired with a 3060ti.

If you’re looking at AM4/Ryzen 5000, then I’d definitely go with the 13400, as even the 12400 was a better gaming choice on the “low” end

Yea I don’t want something overkill cpu wise but I will run some vms so the extra cores help

Whoa thanks a lot here @UrBaN963 ! It’s genuinely tough to pick here but the intel one didn’t include a motherboard

Damn that would make it more expensive

That's weird, I had chosen one. Here's an updated one with a motherboard.

Agreed. I am not sure which way I'd go really, I'd have to look over the charts and so on but I'm thinking the 5800X maybe.

Noticed AM4 only supports PCI express 3.0 only

Edit : I see 4.0 support on the 5800x but I’ll need integrated graphics just for the month before I get the GPU

Considering price, you have made this difficult between AMD and Intel
