Credible effort by Bangladesh.
Erm... you guys do realise 15 years in a sport that has been around for +- 150 years, for a nation that is not exactly a economic gaint should result in their performance?
Sorry I do not get how you guys are surprised by this.

He can have a rest for tomorrow's game...Parnell brings up his 50![]()
edit: make that 60.
Sri Lanka lifted the world cup after 15 years of international cricket, and they're an even poorer country.

Welllll.........
Also Bangladesh scoring 170 is not at all bad.
Yeah let's not get into the economics (since I didn't bother checking), but they're both there or thereabouts. The point is still valid though, 15 years is more than enough. I'm not saying drop Bangladesh, but if they've been given test status then teams like Zimbabwe and Ireland deserve it too.
And yeah 170 is not bad considering one bowler went for 60 in his 4 overs. That guy seriously needs to go back to domestic cricket.
Just checked on cricindia and it's even worse - 26 years playing ODIs and 12 years playing tests.
SL won the world cup after 21 years playing ODIs and 15 years playing tests.
So pretty much equal. Bangladesh's biggest problem is they have too many bits-and-pieces cricketers. Their test match record is pathetic - 3 wins in 73 games with 63 losses.
I also sometimes wonder if it should not be a rule that guys like Zim and Bang and Ireland get a a nice amount of tests against the "big" countries' B teams.
That's the intention when we tour England IIRC, SA 'A' will be playing Ireland. Ireland gets the experience and we have match-fit players ready to play in the event of an injury to anybody in our main squad. Win-win for both countries.
Who said Hash is not a T20 player ?
Any IPL team will do well to secure a quality player like him.
Good start to the season by SA...
