If this was a T20 problem, every country would be having to deal with premature retirements. Maybe you can mention the other countries who have similar issues? Then why hasn't he retired from t20i's?

fair point. I did not consider that he is only really playing T20 and should be included there. he never officially retired from T20i.Faf hasn't played 50 over cricket in years on what basis should he have even been consider. Same goes for rillee.
It's stronger then the 2019 squad.

Yes, franchise cricket has opened up options. Players from other countries have the same options though, why are they making different decisions?I firmly believe that if franchise t20 cricket wasn't around, he would still be playing ODI's. Poor administration or not.
He has had chats with Rob Walter regarding the t20wc.fair point. I did not consider that he is only really playing T20 and should be included there. he never officially retired from T20i.
but I will concede on ODI.
They are. See Trent Boult as an example. It's an issue for all countries but India, aus and England.Yes, franchise cricket has opened up options. Players from other countries have the same options though, why are they making different decisions?

fully agree. He has had chats with Rob Walter regarding the t20wc.
He needs to make himself available for when SA plays T20 matches to be considered.
Was tied up with leagues during both the West Indies and now the aus one.
Hopefully they can work something out. Need our best players.
Firstly, Boult is a 34 year old fast bowler (i.e. twilight of his career) and, secondly, AFAIK he's still playing for NZ.They are. See Trent Boult as an example. It's an issue for all countries but India, aus and England.
They can pay their players enough that it's not worth it going T20 Merc.
He(you) always have a choice. It's up to the individual. Also, lets not keep going around in circles. Yes i agree administration must have had an effect on his decisions just like I think franchise t20s has had an effect.Would he have a choice, then?

Are you saying CSA can afford what league cricket is payingI'm missing your argument here. Are you agreeing with me that the administrators have no interest in looking after the players and only themselves?
Yup, in India batsmen are key to winning, we also only have 1 categorised all rounder and he is a bowling all rounderToo many fast bowlers. Should have dropped one and taken a middle order batting reserve.

Tough call but I really expected Brevis or Stubbs even Ferreira to make the final cut
Brevis/Stubbs/Ferreira in for Coetzee, it is the only option and he is the new guy and his performance against Aus will have to be good but he is already announcedAgreed but who do you drop?
Might have droped Hendriks or Rasie although Rasie been the best ODI performer in recent years with the exception of this year, Magala also lukcy I would rather take Brevis or Ferreira as both bowl a bit

This... and this is also why 50 over cricket needs to be killed. They are. See Trent Boult as an example. It's an issue for all countries but India, aus and England.
