Sad reality :(

I still think curb the BCCI now and take the loss, than them growing even more dictating and causing a bigger loss in the future.
 
You'd think the number one test team would be in demand for fixtures.
 
This is why our players like Steyn, Amla and De Villiers wont end up on the top of the rankings at the end of their careers. We only play like 5 tests a year whilst the other countries play much more.

He stepped on their toes and interfered in the IPL. I recall that they were upset by the some the decisions he made which didn't suit well with them.

The BCCI has become to big and using their money to influence the way the game is played. Not good for cricket in the long run. Even websites like CricInfo won't publish comments that might piss off the BCCI. Tested that a few times myself.

If the ICC had balls they should be ensuring a minimum quota of test matches per major team per year.

As McT explains below... they are pissy because while he headed the ICC they did not stand for the BCCI's bullying. They then warned Cricket SA not to appoint him.... Cricket SA, the only Cricket board barring perhaps the Aussie one (yes it pained me to say that), had the balls to rightfully give them the finger.

Now they are acting like spoiled two year olds :mad:

+1. it really does piss me off that we are not seeing more test cricket, fsck it even if it is against the WI or NZ.

+1. Now the ICC is no longer flexing its muscles but whimpering away... ffs. Install a minimum amount of tests, ODIs and T20s a year and nation vs nation over 4 years.

ICC grow a pair!
 
I see in the online press that there are rumblings of a possible apology to the BCCI. The downside of that is giving into the whims of the Indians just empowers then further. The upside is the financial side wherein we stand to lose as much as R175M due to a shortened tour. Franchises are also likely to gain significantly as the Indians are the most lucrative tourists of world cricket.

If the rest of the world can just stand against the Indian bully we would be better off in a year or five.... But the smaller / poorer nations like WI / Sri Lanka / Bangladesh and the yellow livered poms will never stand up to India....

India do not own most of the tv rights. They do however have the networks with the highest willing bidders as well as the most viewers....

Letting one person / country lord its power over every other participating country / person is never a good thing.

Not Rory, Please guys. I would rather breed some youngsters like Abbot or Hendricks.

Also pleased to see Big Vern made the ODI team. He fully deserves the call up after his performances in the tests.

I must agree,very surprising exclusion. We had this whole debacle about his ODI status and he makes himself available only not to be selected :confused:

Does seem odd. I wonder if he had any commitments in the CLT20 which might have persuaded them for a lighter schedule against the Pakis.
