No. 7 Headache intensifying...

The stars are aligning for the Proteas in most respects just 10 ODIs out from the 2019 World Cup, but the issue of who will bat at No 7 remains the biggest headache for skipper Faf du Plessis and the national selectors.
One thing we know now is that Du Plessis is backing the long tail of Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Imran Tahir.

Our "balance" problem is back in the news again. Personally I ask, do we REALLY want to be asking Duminy/Markram/Behardien "chipping in" to make up 10 overs? Against quality opposition they will get carted around the field imo.

Stick with the all rounder at 7 and let the debate be which one exactly...

If we are going to pick allrounder at 7 he has be our strongest batsman with the tail we have. So far me they either pick mulder at 7 or they take their chances on jp/markram being able to get 10 overs in.

Morris for me if his form is there.

Though our frontline attack should generally have the opposition on the back foot, you'd hope...that makes Duminy and Markram a possibility with another batsman at 7.

farhaan is a better bat than morris...

the only problem is that he is a upper middle order bat and weve been playing him out of position for all this time.

the reason he got into the team was cos of his sunfoil numbers batting at 4 and only later did he do finishing in shorter formats, but that is still coming in at 5

go figure.

You need to be adaptable and earn the right to bat in your favorite spot. Ricky ponting start at 6 for aus. Only got the nr 3 spot after he proved that he deserved to bat higher.

Farhaan hasn't done any thing at international to deserve a higher spot.

What are the worst match figures that have made it on to the Lord's honours board? asked James Hampshire from England

The most expensive of the 29 ten-fors on the Lord's honours boards belongs to Makhaya Ntini, who took 10 for 220 (5 for 75 and 5 for 145) in 2003. Ntini came in for a bit of tap from Andrew Flintoff later on, which spoiled his figures a little - but he was not too bothered, as South Africa won by an innings anyway, and he was their first bowler to take ten in a match at Lord's. "There was a lot of pride," he said. "All I could think about was the fact that the name Ntini would forever sit in the place they call the home of cricket."

Next comes the England legspinner Doug Wright, with 10 for 175 against South Africa in 1947. Another legspinner, Roly Jenkins, just missed out on the honours board (and Ntini's record) with 9 for 290 - the most runs any bowler has conceded in a Lord's Test - for England against West Indies in 1950.

The cheapest ten-for at Lord's was achieved by Charles "the Terror" Turner, with 10 for 63 for Australia in 1888.

Good move for Rudi Second to the Warriors, he need to give up the keeping gloves and focus on batting.
Andries Gous is now the no.1 keeper at the Knights, he need a big season next year. Hopefully Lizaad Williams move the Lions is permanent, he is waste at the Cobras.
