Malema and the entire EFF have been physically kicked out of parliament, on a few occasions.

Overaction by CSA ? I can understand why you would think that.

For argument sake, if it happens that he were to be assaulted or threatened during the WC then we would all blame CSA for not taking precautions to prevent it.

Which may well end up hurting SA cricket in more ways than one. We don't need any of that. CSA is going to do what it thinks is best for CSA.

There is no legal standing as there is no right to be captain.

Also not the first pro player to get into trouble for his opinion. See the case of Israel Folau getting sacked by the aus rugby for his anti gay posts on social media. Now playing for Fiji were they are more "open" to his views..

IF any of these games were to be played in Cape Town I would concede that there could be a chance of that that happening. In Potch and Bloemfontein? Not so much.

You mentioned earlier that all are equal before the law. 100% correct, but how these laws are applied and enforce seem to differ vastly. Which is why I said rules and not laws. My "rules" are simple, everyone deserves to be treated with equal respect (until they prove themselves unbecoming of such respect). It would appear that not everybody has the same outlook.

I was referring to this comment comment about it being taken up in the legal system.

The Israel Folau case was also a complete and utter balls-up. The reaction to that was as wrong as it is in this case.
It is a sad indictment on our society as all of this is basically driven by a desire to not offend anybody.

I have been wondering what would the fallout have been if he had just condemned the Hamas actions of 7/11 and not mentioned anything about Israel. I think maybe something similar but I certainly don't know that for sure.

Likely no complaint if he had only condemned Hamas.
Issues comes with the praise of the soldiers and the state of Israel.

Also in firdose article on ESPN Cricinfo complaint didn't come from PSA only. They are just the ones announcing their complaint publicly.
Sponsors and private citizens also complained.

Was government involved, highly likely... but its understandable given the ICJ case going on. Whether right or wrong, the young man learnt a valuable lesson about being a public figure and how to conduct oneself in those situations.

A national captain is de facto a ministerial position. National teams and especially captains are seen as representative of their nations/countries at all times

edit: most members here that are employed will know that your employers most likely have a social media policy which restricts you from voicing personal opinions while seen in your capacity as an employee...

I don't get why supporting Israeli soldiers, many of whom would be his age, is suddenly such a big taboo.

It's called war. It's never universally popular. And it's hardly the Israeli's fault the Palestinians continue to willingly harbour militants.

US veterans are held in very high esteem throughout the US.

Pretty sure Israel soldiers are loved inside Israel aswell, doesn't make them loved around the world and especially here.

There are 2 sides to that argument, 75 years worth of back and forth.

It was different during the Vietnam war for us vets,they were very much disliked by the war protesters and a lot of the general public.

Same aus that canned Israel folau for his social media posts. Same aus currently captained by a guy the Aussie right wing nicknamed captain woke. Same Aus where Usman khawaja is fully supported by his teammates for his stance regarding Palestine.

Yeah I am sure teeger will fit right in.
