The rand is tanking

Buy Rand, sell again when it rebounds(it will at some point)
Buy imported goods, sell when prices jump in a few weeks(electronics purchases a good bet, they seem to respond quickest... Although depending how hard China ****s it's pants electronics prices could dip)

Wonderful time to earn pounds or dollars. Stop crying people, just figure out a way to earn some foreign money.

Its been holding well for a while, but this latest "tank" is primarily due to China, hence it stabilising quickly after the sudden collapse.

An economist on summit predicted the rand hitting an all time low of R15 near the end of the year, and that was before the China debacle.

Saw this a long time coming.
Just kiss more jobs and luxuries goodbye.
 
On the bright side, foreigners just bought a record amount of rands...
 
House prices gonna go down too?

Possibly not with all the fekkin Brits and Europeans buying "bargains" and pushing the market up all the time :(

I am not saying it's a good thing the Rand is becoming worthless, i'm saying you might as well work towards getting yourself on the winning side now that a week rand is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Most currencies around the world are tanking today, its not a rand specific thing. Be thankful you are not in asia today. The Chinese stock market has fallen 8% already today.

Our farmers must be happier today. Many of them do food export and this means more money in their pockets. Importers will be suffering.

1st world currencies are tanking nowhere near as terribly as ours ...... so that means squat

That means nothing when the value of the currency is less, and inflation kicks in to compensate.
