By that time you may as well go for the better Sandero or any other car, as the price would be the same.

Renault adds automatic version to budget Kwid range
Renault has extended its Kwid range with the introduction of the automatic model alongside the current Expression and Dynamique manual models.
The automatic version is priced at R146 900 and is powered by a 1.0- litre 3-cylinder engine with a claimed 50kW and 91Nm of torque.
The French automaker claims the Kwid will use 4.4 litres/100km with the new shelf-shifter transmission.
The Kwid is available with features like an 18cm touchscreen system that houses a navigation and multi-media system.
It has cool functions like Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free phone access, USB & AUX-input ports, and speed sensing volume control.

Renault adds an automatic model to its Kwid range. The budget-beating hatch/crossover now has 3 models to choose from.
The Renault Kwid has been labelled a success by those inside Renault SA. Some 10 000 Kwids have been sold since it went on sale at the back end of 2016. The new automatic model will top off the range making it 3 models to choose from – Expression, Dynamique and Dynamique AMT (automatic).
The Kwid auto carries over the spec from the current Dynamique, meaning it has nifty connectivity features such as 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with navigation, USB and auxillary audio inputs.
On the safety front, there still isn't much on offer. A driver's airbag is the sum total of safety equipment; ABS, traction control and more airbags are still not available.
The engine for the auto model remains the same with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder managing 50 kW and 91 Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency for the automatic variant improves from 4.7 L/100 km to 4.4 L/100 km.
The AMT model (automated manual) is a 5-speed variant and if our experience with these gearboxes is anything to go by it could be quite clunky and particularly jerky to drive. We should have a full report on the drive tomorrow, look out for that.

Renault Kwid gets automated gearbox option
Renault is answering a growing call for automatic gearboxes in the budget segment with the new Kwid AMT.
The new derivative comes in on top of two existing manual options sold in either base Expression or higher-specced Dynamique trim grades, but the new AMT is available as a Dynamique only.
The five-speed AMT transmission is a robotised manual similar in operation to Suzuki's AGS and Smart's AMT gearboxes (and even BMW's old SMG) where a computer-controlled actuator depresses a conventional clutch (instead of the driver) and gear selections happen automatically.
It's an older type of transmission technology, and in the past we've criticised automated manuals for their lurchy performance and lengthy hesitations between gear changes, but we'll wait for the final word of of editor Denis Droppa who's attending the media ride-and-drive of the new Kwid as we speak.
The Kwid AMT employs the same 50kW/91Nm 1-litre three-cylinder engine as it's had since its original launch in 2016, but with the new transmission Renault quotes an average fuel consumption of 4.4 litres per 100km (down from 4.7 in the manual).
Dynamique standard fare comes in the form of a 17.8cm colour touchscreen with navigation, some extra chrome trim pieces in the cabin and a second cubby hole in the upper part of the dashboard.
All Kwids come with Renault's standard five-year/150 000km warranty, and to entice buyers one year of comprehensive insurance is thrown into each sale, but unfortunately (and controversially) the city hatch still doesn't come with ABS brakes. There's also only one airbag for the driver, where some competitors come with at least two.
