The right smartphone choice

Speaking of Sony, the Satio (Idou) is going to run Symbian Touch - not sure if they will create their own flavour UI candy for it (like the Omnia HD) but it is good in terms of Symbian support.

I guess Symbian will see a significant boost once the whole Symbian foundation is in full swing. Nokia has been a bit over protective of this wÜnder child of theirs and it has not done Symbian any favours. However, it is even harder to get an iPhone app out there and that us a touch only OS and so far it only has one screen resolution to worry about. Those are things Symbian has dealt with already.
 
I cant find a upgraded Nokia Email Suite anywhere

IPhone users are just finding out what multitasking is. They have a beautiful OS to work with and lots of apps, I'm surprised that their smartphone was so limiting.

Past Sony Ericsson devices ran older versions of Symbian UIQ - almost like the first E's and N's :p

UIQ is dead my friend. Sony E are in deep doodoo from what I hear. They're going to bring out some new models soon and they hope to sell truckloads.
 
They are using Symbian 9.4 in the [-]Idou[/-] Satio.
From the looks of it the pure Series60 flavour straight from Nokia :p
 
anyone that ever used an e71 or held one in their hand have to give it to nokia that it is probably the most durable phone they ever made...mine fell from a balcony (wont advise anyone to test that though) and picked it up and continued using it, only had a dent on the side to show for it. The os is perfect the exchange implementation is even better than the windows mobile phones, OS is fast and responsive. Only complaint is the awkard size, quite thin but rather wide, but guess thats true for all smart phones.
 
It WILL have HSDPA when it launches as a GSM phone...

But IMO Palm has really dropped the ball on the Pre - leaving out the microSD card slot, crippling it with only 8GB stoarage when the iPhone has 16/32GB...

Here's hoping the Pre2 fixes all these issues and goes 2x better than the iPhone 3GS!

I've had a E71 for a week - reminded me way too much of my 1st 3G phone - the Nokia 6630! So I swopped it for a Xperia X1 - much better! Since then I've upgraded to a BB Storm and then to a Touch HD, pretty good as well....

And Apple can do Exhange with the best of them!
