THis just shows you have to pl

We have no flyhalf on the bench. Would have to shift WIllemse to 10 to replace Jantjies
Even any of the forwards would have been better than him.

Nee f--- we play like crap. Rinse and repeat. Scrum, pass , run ... (and lets kick the ball 99% of the time)

Beyond this game the coaches will need to evolve the springbok gameplan to match the advances made by our top teams in the URC. The game has moved on. This feels like a major step down from what the Stormers and Bulls were putting out there.

I don't beleive the old wisdom that conservative rugby wins world cups is necessary going to be true for us anymore, Teams are studying us, and they will have something to counter what we were doing before. It's why year 3 in the 4 year cycle between world cups is often our worst year because by year three they figure us out.

That what people understand as conservative rugby is a game plan which revolve around structure. This team out there today have no structure, and their pivot didn't even know where his own line was hence, he is replaced. It is not like Wales are being disruptive either, we are disrupting ourselves. Elton was a bad pivot today, and it placed the entire team under pressure.

I know, i was making a longer term point.

I am curious why Elton got selected in the starting line-up. He hardly had game time in Japan, he made his debut at the Red Hurricanes and got hurt on that same day. Is his shoulder good?

Just odd to select a player which doesn't seem recovered...

Thats a tough call on Wales to give yelllow for slowing down the ball

2020 was planned as a depth building year which we lost because of covid. 2021 was the lions tour so they had to play first choice players and chose a very conservative gameplan because we hadn't played much up to that point and complexity was the enemy. So now they are in a situation where they want to execute old plans around certain players in an attempt to build depth, but like i hinted at before, my worry is if we get stuck with old plans and don't focus on what is in front of us or what is coming in the future i think we will get caught napping because other teams are figuring us out.

Our forwards will be fine but we need a backline that is better than average.

Rassie could do it, but our current coach i'm unsure about. He just doesnt have the man management or gravitas that Rassie has, although i think he is quite thorough technically so perhaps he can still do well. Rassie will need to be very hands on if we are to have a good chance at the next world cup.
