Didn't see the game but definitely a glum result. Two venues where you'd expect us to klap the NH teams, which doesn't bode well for next weekend in Cape Town, where it's more like NH conditions. Boys are going to have to pull finger.

I'm so angry actually. We lost against a Wales team that isn't that good.

If we lost against a team that is on fire constantly it would have been better but Wales just isn't that good and it's not sitting well with me. Sigh

Whatever. Congrats Wales.

I feel like we were so tentative at times. Maybe they were scared to "overplay". We have a big problem at 10 though. Pollard looked to go off injured. His carries were brilliant but his place kicking was kaaak

Why did the B team play
Why not? They were a minute away from a 12-6 victory.

Building depth. Bigger picture is upcoming ruby world cup, not that I think we going to progress past the quarter finals.

I've always said, all that stands between the Boks and mediocrity is Rassie Erasmus.

Yes but against an average Wales side. After all they just missed out with 1 point. Had he missed the conversion we would have won.

I think the changes were just too many for us to hold on and secure a win. I don't think I like this buzzword depth to be honest.

We battle against them lately. Similar playing styles. They neutralized our driving maul from the line out, destroyed us in the air and their defense is very well organized.

We never got ascendancy in the scrums either.

Anyway they not a bad side. 6 nations Champs 2021 and 2022 were competitive losing by a single score in most of their fixtures.

We fielded a side full of individual stars but lacked cohesion required to finish.

Last minute defeat is a decent result. Having said that, at home and at altitude we should be putting them away.

Gents, home advantage, World Cup winner’s how the **** do we let Wales square a series????

Without Rassie playing an active role it just doesn't work.

Our head coach is a world class defensive coach and earned his stripes in that role and deserves respect in that position, but he doesn't have much experience as a head coach. Placing him in charge of the national team was an extremely risky move by Rassie however you look at it.

It's a similar situation to the Johan Ackermann/Swys de Bruin combo at the Lions. Swys is a brilliant attacking coach, but when made head coach the lions went backwards. It's hard to say what exactly makes a coach successful but it's more than just knowing what to do, you need an X factor that produces results. That's why you only pick a proven coach with a strong track record. Just because Rassie and Nienaber share notes and are on the same page is not enough.

When Rassie isn't hands on our game goes backwards.

Was in the standard at Bloemfontein last night.

EISH!!

What a disappointment.

The Medics and Water dicks had almost as much pitch time as the players. What a disappointment - water dicks wonder around on the pitch, while play is in progress.

Never seen such a bunch of time wasting Knuts playing "test rugby" .
Then the clowns buggering around between the goal and dead ball line, while play is on.

What a flippen Circus.

Coming into the staduim, the food stalls where sold out, at the beginning of the game the booze was sold out.

Hooray for the New South Africa.

Geez ... , the worst of it all is, my Mate and myself paid R500.00 a ticket. What a flippen waste.

Would have seen more rugby if we went and watch a School rugby game, or a game in the Cheese and Wine League.

A lot can be said about the game but one obvious thing i didn't like was the insistence on going for posts every chance we got. We played the game with extreme conservatism as if it was a World Cup final and accumulating 3 points over and over was the way to go. We should have backed ourselves in the corner on a few occasions.

Only kicking for point left us open to a late try by them and that is exactly what happened.

There was no need to play the opposition into the game with extreme caution. it was almost like there was a team order to give Pollard some kicking practice.
