It was a fair charge-down, like it or not.

Similar incident ended Lambie's career so let's hope Williams is ok.

Bok management sticking to their plan despite iffy results and public opinion. I admire that.

Likely loss over in Arg with the mob we send over but hey, nothing like a good win by them to set us up. They are all playing for RWC squad spots.
Do you remember what sanction CJ got for that similar charge down? I'll give you a clue. It wasn't a penalty to Ireland.

I'll be interested to hear world rugby's comments on this during the week. My understanding of the current approach is that direct contact with the head is always foul play. The fact that he touched the ball doesn't mitigate the extreme danger he caused. As I said, it will be interesting to hear.
I prefer it if direct contact with the head isn't automatically foul play. I hate the new pansy laws of the last few years. But it certainly was a thing the last few years. I don't know if the is a real law change of something for the world cup or if it was only tried in the URC.

It definitely seems inconsistent. The games two weeks ago was the same, less focus on foul/dangerous play. Which is awesome. It feels like real rugby again.

Happy about the win but was a terrible game to watch. Worst performance in a long time. I think most of us expected the Boks to beat the Pumas by at least 10. We never got going, silly handling errors, too many turnovers conceded and too many penalties. Defense was good but if the Puma kicker had a better day at the office, we would have lost by 7. I am very scared for our chances at the WC.

I agree, not a good performance. It seemed to me that the players did not give the Pumas the respect they deserved and maybe they picked up on it and it gave them some extra motivation. At random breaks in play, players just seemed to nonchalant, smiling and joking amongst themselves, especially in the first half. We perform best when under pressure and when "written of" with our backs to the wall.

One thing I took away from this match is the heavily improved Argentinian team over the past decade. The decision to include them in the Rugby Championship is definitely paying off for the South American team - they have improved their physicality, discipline and gameplay immensely over the past couple of years! It will be interesting to see Pumas v Scotland/Wales/Fiji etc. They can be very competitive if they keep their discipline in check and stop the other team from gaining too much possession, just like they did against the Bokke this weekend past.

They definitely were the biggest winners from the Rugby Championship - I think the level of the sport in the country has also benefitted immensely

True, there is no more a "pushover" Puma team. And they have upped their discipline a lot. They will be a force at the WC.

Very much a mix 'n match team. For some guys it will be their first game. We will be hard-pressed to win this one.
I like this team - lots of young blood mixed in. Can only hope they push to prove themselves and retain ball possession. Looking forward to the match!

That Argie fullback has been handed a 2 week suspension for the hit on Grant Williams which means he will be eligible for RWC later this year.

...but he contested the ball in the air with the tips of his fingers according to the ref...justice has been served, but that's no consolation for Williams who couldn't show the selectors how good he is.

Agreed extremly unlucky , hopefully he gets a chance in one of the warm up games. Wales would be the best option if he recovers in time otherwise maybe the last 10-15 minutes against the All Balcks although the game might be tighter and If we are ahead we might want to grind out a win.

Unlucky for Williams, agreed, BUT it again shows the bias from the ref's when it comes to SA. I was FUMING on Saturday when he didn't at least get a yellow. Now it proves it should have been a red.

That's IF he makes it for the RWC squad. I'd take Faf (obviously), Reinach (obviously) and then Williams. He looks like a fantastic prospect for the future.
