The Rugby thread

Someone explain the difference between a number four and five lock please. Never understood why, when reading team selection articles, authors go on about someone not being suited to the number 4 or 5 position.

I'm not so sure. Our injury list and the type of injuries looks pretty excessive. It just doesn't add up. I think and it's my opinion that Ireland played a bit dirty knowing its their last game.
I have to add that I think Doris should have received a straight red after his BS clean out and landing right on Marx's knee! World Rugby should definitely add a rule in regarding that rolling maneuver to protect those ACL's from morons that don't know how to clean without sidelining a player or even worse, stopping someone's rugby entirely!

But somehow, it's just labeled as a rugby incident? I mean if Eben did that to a Dan Sheean the international rugby world especially the European rugby fans will be foaming by the mouth demanding months suspension. I'm calling it out on the social pages that come up on my Facebook page and you must see the backlash I'm getting from the Irish. Really nasty stuff.

Exactly the same thing happened to Bongi at the 2023 WC - Frizell was sent off with a yellow but World Rugby should have taken note from then onwards that the potential for career ending knee injuries is heightened if they don't ensure at least a red with citation if the players 'accidentally' fall on the knee of the opposing player.

Anyway I am a broken record it seems :)

Just hope that Marx has a speedy recovery! Doris is a d00s for that clean out though and anyone that says otherwise, can go lick Doris where the sun don't shine!

Exactly now World Rugby completely banned it yet still no sanction...

Number 4 grabs the looseheads balls, and 5 grabs the tightheads balls.

So it’s about being left handed or right handed.

Was it the ref or the tmo? Sorry, not watching but saw the commentary.

Yeah and seems quite young. I gave her the benefit of the doubt but after that yellow card I think we have a girl boss dei hire.
She is doing ok. Takes a bit of guts to go out there.
