Taking the kids to Loftus on Sunday for Bulls vs Sharks.

We were there for the quarter final earlier this year as well. Maybe the Sharks can hold out for the win this time. But it was brilliant by the Bulls to clinch it after the hooter.

Disclaimer: I don't support either team. Cheetahs supporter in Pretoors taking the kids to experience the atmosphere and have a nice day out with the family.
I'll see you there, metaphorically speaking.
Also taking my two; in our family we've got a Shark, a Stormer and a Lion (in terms of where everyone was born).

DSTV is a joke. Not showing the Japan vs NZL game... Arg what is the point of paying R700 for premium if you still need to watch the games on pirate IPTV.

Can't believe it.

Now I have no excuse to not install the new ceiling fan in the guest bedroom

Yeah they are not showing it either.

I had to watch it on pirate iptv. Imagine and I have dstv premium. They even advertised it on supersport pages but not showing it.

I see the Scotland vs Australia game on the tv guide for Grandstand channel tonight. Looks like they might be showing it.

Well done to Japan, 4 tries against NZ's 5!
Most 1st tier countries struggle to get 1 or 2 tries against the Kiwis, sounded like a very fast running, close game indeed.

No doubt having a NZ coach has helped them as well as a 2?? of NZ usual squad players that weren't available.

All in all very impressive, will try to catch the highlights on YouTube later!

Edit: for those who missed the match, here are the highlights. That 2nd All Black try almost certainly included a forward pass, could easily have changed the final outcome at that early stage.

They have long had two or more New Zealand coaches. There was a slight interruption with Eddie Jones tenure as head coach, but since 2007 they have gone Kiwi with Kirwan, then came Jones, and then Joseph stepped in to this day. Joseph has been running Tony Brown and Scott Hansen since his appointment, basically the old Highlanders coaching team, including the conditioning and analytical team, and the latest recruit being John Mitchell whose role didn’t go as expected at the English.

Do note that there is an active partnership between New Zealand and Japan now which was set up by Joseph some years ago. Various Japanese players, particularly their youth, are playing in New Zealand's rugby leagues, and so is there a coaching exchange program.

This is a good result produced by Japan in Tokyo, and neither did they play their all-best, but the key players were there. Japan has more depth. I hope this ‘almost’ victory gives them a boost, because not too many people believe that Japan is prepared going into RWC 2023. A big part to them not playing up to par since the last Rugby World Cup was due to the pandemic in which tight regulations disrupted their ongoing preparation. Their union can be happy that Joseph and co. stayed on-board.

Good win by the stormers. Sad for the Lions as they lost the game.

Munster vs Ulster now and Australia vs Scotland.

The Japanese are showing everyone flames. They're no longer one of the smallernyana teams people just scoff at when they're grouped with them in RWC.

Would've been even better if the Japanese curb-stomped the All Blacks. Definitely, my side national team to root for in an RWC.

This is their group for next year. Will be fun to watch. I hope they qualify for the quarter-finals again.

My goodness the Scotland vs Australia game is intense.

Poor call by the officials again giving a yellow for direct head contact and they said the mitigation was because the contact was made by the bicep of the Scottish player.

Australia scraped a win by 1 point. Wow
Really Kinghorn had a good game at no.10 for Scotland, but that penalty he missed in the 79th minute is the sort of opportunity you can't afford to miss at this level of international rugby these days.. it really was kickable, nowhere near the sideline and a decent distance out.

It was proper fun. Had a great family outing.

Rugby could have been better. So many penalties and poor kicks.
