The Rugby thread

I don't understand why people are so negative after the first games of the euro tour. The normal sheep with no rugby knowledge are already calling for the coaches heads after the SA A side lost. Our team is starting to play much better in terms of cohesion and game plans, and it will only get better once we get to the WC. As was the plan from the start of the season that I preached. On top of that Rassie will bring the players together again and hype them up by showing them how sided world rugby are against us.

Also don't understand why our own people are so critical of Rassie, they forget what he meant for us so quickly. They should stand behind him and against world rugby for this needless ban.

The coaches have a plan you show your lack of knowledge if you are doubting them.
Certain rugby journalist/PR guy on Twitter...dude turned on Rassie as quickly as he could.

Only catching up on the highlights now. I written Scotland off as a meh shít team with no real prospects, but man they trashed Argentina.

Really exciting stuff with everyone beating everyone else. Go Georgia, my fav to win everything and the world cup.

Team to face England

Springbok team: Willie le Roux, Kurt-Lee Arendse, Jesse Kriel, Damian de Allende, Makazole Mapimpi, Damian Willemse, Faf de Klerk, Evan Roos, Franco Mostert, Siya Kolisi (captain), Marvin Orie, Eben Etzebeth, Frans Malherbe, Bongi Mbonambi, Ox Nche.

Replacements: Malcolm Marx, Steven Kitshoff, Thomas du Toit, Marco van Staden, Kwagga Smith, Jaden Hendrikse, Manie Libbok, Canan Moodie.

Pretty good video. I slightly disagree that we have a victim narrative. Rassie should continue to question bad refereeing decisions to improve that, but I do believe that is kept far away enough from players.

Maybe we complain a bit to much on the field.

Kriel again ffs. Also don’t know what Orie is doing there. Other than that, not bad.
Jesse Kriel hasn't played badly on this tour. Better than he has played in past games. But it shows you how mercurial Am is.

Not sure who else was available to Nienaber to be honest. One option would have been to shift DDA to 13, Willemse to 12 and bring Libbok in at 10 but that in my opinion would have been quite a gamble. I think he's probably got the best possible setup there, we just have to hope it works.

Henco van Wyk? Looks like just a matter of time before he becomes a Bok. Esterhuizen can create havoc, but it seems he doesn't fire in a green jersey.

Kriel is excellent. De Allende is the problem. He is not a 12 and has really shít ball skills so however plays outside of him looks bad because of him.

He is basically a loose forward(a bad one) stuck in the backline for defense only. If this is the strategy I would much rather they stop trying to BS us and just play Kwagga at 12 would be much better.

Arendse had the game of his life last week and this week he won't see the ball because of the crash test dummies kriel and De Allende. Atleast Willie is there to skip them.

I think faf kicks for 60ish mins and then Libbok (he had a great start to a SA jersey) kicks for 20.

Ox is looking better than his first few games. I had massive respect in his club games but it isn't carrying over the way I thought it would.

I wouldn't say he is excellent. He has talent, but has not delivered for too long now. I think there's only so much one can blame on De Allende. But yes, other than running into people, he doesn't offer that much me thinks. Very surprised to see he even made world team of the year!

Didn't watch this particular video but Squidge tends to sidestep refereeing issues like a Cheslin Kolbe classic
