He's fineJesus, pretty sick to be glad someone is possibly paraplegic
Agree but honestly, if he is a long-term prospect the dude should be able to put in the work to improve his kicking. Percy went from a very average kicker at first to over 80% by the end of his career. One of the few problems I see is that if we go with Manie (and his replacement kicker, whoever that might be) and we come up against stronger opposition then all those missed kicks will hurt us badly.
We won by such a big margin it didn't matter, but against the AB a few missed kicks could cost us the game.

True, was listening to a podcast with Handre Pollard on and he talked about the kick to win the England game. He talked about his mindset and that he knew in the last 15 minutes that it was most likely going to come down to one kick to win it but his attitude was to embrace it, "That is the moment we live for". So yeah, I wonder if a mind/attitude coach might be helpful it it's not a purely physical thing.Yeah it might be a BMT thing, because people were commenting that before the 1st Argentina game started Manie was kicking them over. And then when the game started the nerves kicked in.
And if it is, then I don't know how much can be done. Some players are born with it and nor sure how that can be fixed.
People underestimate the amount of pressure professional sports players have to handle. Sports psychology plays a huge part in helping professional athletes to improve their game - you can train your body all you want but if your mentality is wrong, you won't make it - just look at the SEAL TEAM training (BUDS) as a prime example. Manie definitely has the talent and skill but he has to work on his nerves...I believe Pollard should definitely help him out with that.True, was listening to a podcast with Handre Pollard on and he talked about the kick to win the England game. But also, muscle memory and practise can go a long way.
Linky?Ag Pollard also missed many kicks regularly when he was younger.
So it seems that SFM's knee injury is worse than initially thought. What was thought to be about 8 weeks on the sideline could now be 10, meaning he will most certainly miss the EOYT. I also doubt Dobbo will rush him back into the Stormers setup, so he is likely done for the year.

Could you be MORE vague...or just making stuff up as usual?Ag Pollard also missed many kicks regularly when he was younger. There was no uproar about it
Yes indeed..but this happens during those extra 2 hours after general practice...not during test matches.Agree but honestly, if he is a long-term prospect the dude should be able to put in the work to improve his kicking. Absolutely, he 100% shouldn't be kicking in tests until he sorts that out, unfortunately for him, Flyhalfs are supposed to be able to kick as well (unless a team is lucky enough to have a kicking fullback). It's one of those things that will always affect the career of a flyhalf. Butch James was just lucky we had Percy in that 2007 World Cup Winning team.Yes indeed..but this happens during those extra 2 hours after general practice...not during test matches.
I'm just not sure why Manie is being "forced" like this? It feels like there is this absolute drive to make him our flyhalf? I thought he played really well on Saturday and I think he has something to offer but am not sure he is Pollard's successor, I think Sacha is the guy who will be there long term.I'm just not sure why Manie is being "forced" like this? He's not good, even if IMHO only.
And this whole "no-look" gimmick that now seems to permeate every aspect of his game. Using it while passing, catching and especially kicking, seems rather counter productive.
Is he really our only option?
