What you don't watch rugby or you one of those that only see the mistakes some players make and not the others. It is a bit difficult now as most "old" stats are just giving as penalties made and not how many attempts/misses.
But this should give you an idea

LOL, that article aged well.

Pollard had a 100% kicking record at the world cup by the way.

So it seems that SFM's knee injury is worse than initially thought. What was thought to be about 8 weeks on the sideline could now be 10, meaning he will most certainly miss the EOYT. I also doubt Dobbo will rush him back into the Stormers setup, so he is likely done for the year.
Eish.
Those knee injuries tend to not go away.

The other knee now has to do twice as much work for a few months so that gets extra pressure.

Could end up being career ending for him.

And self-inflicted is the saddest part, by choosing to hide it so could play a game he shouldn't have.

I watch a ridiculous amount including when Pollard was a junior. You made the statement that he missed lots early on in his career. So was that a thumb suck or do you have stats to back it up?

Your thumb suck statements are of no relevance here.

The goal-kicking ace who can save the Springboks because 11 points were left out on the table, never mind that Pollard doesn’t have the distance to nail them from 50 plus metres out like Faf de Klerk tried to twice.

And it’s not like he’s ever missed a goal either, a career kicker at around 75 per cent in Test rugby.

Didn't it just?!! Wow, emphatically!

Libbok is a great running 10, one of the best distributors we've had at 10 but his goal kicking is woefully below par. Even playing for the SA U20's he wasn't the designated goal kicker. Curwin Bosch was..

EDIT: let me elaborate on "woefully below par", cause that isn't accurate either. His goal kicking in test matches is woefully below par.. around 67%..

I also don't buy the claim that Pollards test average is around 75%. Probably closer to 80%+, particularly if you take 2023 RWC and the current test season into consideration...

Actually, "woefully" is probably a slight exaggeration. Let's settle on "below par"... let me find his stats in the 2023 RWC...

Not even his early career but 2021. But maybe you should stop thumb sucking and give us your facts other than YOU said so.

SO you have stats for that or you just thumb sucking?
Interesting that you claim how good his kicking is lately compared to percentages overall. That supports my statement that early on his kicking was not that great and his percentages is flattered by recent success rates.

the glass half empty approach to Manie is really poor...

We scored 7 tries on saturday, 4 of them while he was on the field and if memory serves me correct he had at least one touch in each of them.

come now.

yes he has kicking deficiencies, but the bok game is now geared towards a more attacking ball in hand style that he fits into like a fricking glove.

what im saying is that there are way more positives to having him in the team...
Time will tell if he sorts the kicking out, but kicking alone is not a good enough reason to drop him when he can make it rain tries

the glass is more 3/4 full than half so to speak

Its is mostly Blue Bull supporters that always complain about these things. Remember they booed Percy in s Springbok jersey at Loftus. Is Percy still our highest Springbok point scorer?
Most international kickers are not that great when they start, they become better with experience.
But these guys would like to have a player like Morney Steyn there just to kick great from day one. Remember how useless our Bok backline where when he was there?

Against Argentina, yes, against the All Blacks and Ireland, no. Then you need every point you can get.
I mean Manie missed a kick in front of the posts to win the game.
