If Sacha had a bad game and his ego got to him believing all the hype, hopefully he will learn from that. And that last weeks game is not the current game. You have to play every game like it is new and not have last weeks game in your mind.

Hopefully Rassie will hammer this into Sacha, because he really is our best flyhalf now and for the future. Just hope he doesn't get carried a way with the media hype.
This is stupid. These teams do a lot of analysis. He scored 3 tries in the 1st game so obviously he was better marked and defended the second game especally around the ruck. Maybe that why the space opened up for Raynack the defense were looking at Sacha.

It was a **** game, we played **** and won, wasn’t pretty but we got the job done which I think they were aiming for.

SFM, welcome to being an international rugby player, enjoy the frequent flyers miles next gen.

Three genuine questions,

1) Why do you have such a hatred "boner" for the Springboks?

It’s not hatred or a boner.
2) Why do you like trolling Springboks matches and nitpick what you want, have you ever watched the swart kants (All Blacks play) ?

I know trolling the Bokke gets under the skin of you lot, just like you lot trolling us English gets under my skin.
3) Isn't there any online UK rugby forums for you to interact on with uhm... like English supporters which you might enjoy much more ?
To be honest, I enjoy the banter with you Saffer ( European ancestry passport holders ) more.
PS: Bonus question, or do you secretly love ❤️ 😍 the Springboks but just don't want to admit it ?

Bonus answer, I do Respect the Springbok rugby players.

Fair enough :), FYI, my all-time favourite fly-half remains Jonny Wilkinson.

Lewis Moody been diagnosed with ALS.

Absolutely horrible news. 😐😐😐

Remember watching, Glory Game: The Joost van der Westhuizen Story, his battle with ALS, and the effort he made to try and find a cure etc.

Average prognosis

2 to 5 years from symptom onset is the median survival time.

Roughly 50% of patients live at least 3 years,
20% live 5 years,
and 10% live 10 years or more.

A small minority (like Stephen Hawking) can survive decades, though that’s rare.

Players joining franchise league will be ineligible for international selection

Players who join the R360 global franchise league will be ineligible for international selection, the rugby unions of New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Ireland, England, Scotland, France and Italy said on Tuesday.

The R360 league, fronted by former England centre Mike Tindall, is due to launch in 2026 and media reports have linked it with big-money offers for top rugby union and league players, but the unions are united in their opposition.

"As a group of national rugby unions, we are urging extreme caution for players and support staff considering joining the proposed R360 competition," the unions said in a rare joint statement.

I agree, code-switching/hopping is terrible. This also comes with agreements that contain terrible clauses.

First I'm hearing of this and I don't know much about it but my first reaction is that this reeks of gatekeeping.

What is 'code-switching'?

In layman's terms, it is when you change rules. Rugby Union and Rugby League are both distinct codes with their own rules. R360 serves to disrupt Rugby Union. It is a product to bring about change that is not sanctioned by World Rugby. R360 wants to lure the best players within Union and League, contractually, to participate in a Grand Prix-style tournament. They want two seasonal blocks.

They sign players, it will be problematic to access these players when they are needed.

I have no idea what rules R360 will play. They would have their own rule book, which is sanctioned by R360.

Ok, fair enough what do I know. It just sounded a bit forced...

So what makes people bristle at the thought of selection of league players to play in the unions' competitions?

Would they not be able to transition to union rules?

Code-switching happens. The problem is that R360 will start in October 2026. Then have two seasonal blocks in 2027.

You know, there is a certain Rugby Union event taking place in 2027.

Thanks.

So, it sounds like the union bosses are concerned about losing union players. So they're saying if you leave you won't be selected even if you're good enough to go back and forth.

You know.... call me a conspiracy theorist but I've long suspected complicated rules that not even the players are able to play by/stick to serve a different purpose....

Jus sayin

Thanks.

Yes, but there is more to it. R360 promised not to clash with any World Rugby schedule, but hasn't been able to produce a plan. I won't know; this is all business talk, and not much is being made public. R360 is still Union Rugby, but without World Rugby's endorsement.

It is said that R360 has signed pre-contract agreements with more than 200 Union and League rugby players. Their wheels are rolling.

They are engaging with World Rugby sometime next year again to seek sanction. Though the signals are showing that they will launch their competition with or without approval. The issue is long-term contracts. Contract buyouts aren't cheap. It is the player's decision.

In my opinion, this should have been launched in early 2028.
