I haven't seen any articles on this case that hasn't found major holes in the judgement. It almost feels like a kangaroo court.
 
It always feels like we have our backs against the wall when we play against a European team mostly the Welsh, Scottish and Irish teams.

It feels like things are against us when it comes to officials making calls, the crowd constantly booing us the players complaining etc and I always said maybe it just feels this way because of rivalry or something we can't be this delusional to think these teams, fans and officials are actually against us but this really painted a very clear picture really.

If you look at social media most if not all fans from eu said Wessels did grab the groin area. The citing commisioner was Irish. The full panel was Welsh.

The remarks and finding made by the commission clearly allude to the fact that Wessels version is not believable but all the others the Irish player and Irish citing commissioner is, and they even said because Wessels responses were brief.

No this is not right. I don't recall us having these kinds of things happen to us in Super Rugby? The more I read about this the angrier I get.
 
Good return from the URC this weekend with only the Bulls losing. Super proud of the Lions on how they put Ulster away. Sharks battled past Scarlets. Not a good game to watch. Finally we have Bok rugby again this weekend!

Glasgow's home record is quite superb! I thought the Bulls gave a good account of themselves but alas, a bridge too far.

Benneton another side that is very hard to beat at home! Stormers made to work hard to get the W

But yes, the performance of the weekend goes to the Lions. A great team effort and they caught an Ulster side who had probably given everything the weekend before in their win against the Boks. Lions are another side that are incredibly difficult to beat at home. Regardless of form or how weak their side is, at Ellis Park they're a different proposition entirely.

So we head into the test window for the next month or so. A welcome break for many provincial players. The amount of rugby our local franchises is playing remains ludicrous. It's an unattainable work load.

EOYT promises to be a spectacle of some significance. I personally love EOYT, where the south takes on the north for bragging rights and there are some absolute humdingers scheduled.

This Saturday alone, NZ v Ireland, Australia v England, Boks v Japan...
 
Interesting team for Japan. Cheslin at fullback and new-guy anchoring the scrum.

The worst part is that the written judgement stated that both Murphy and Wessels were credible witnesses. Yet they chose to accept the word of the player that had previous record of ill discipline (bans for shoulder charging and unintentional contact with the eyes) and was on a red card for punching. :X3:. Wessels has never been banned during his whole career.

Kangaroo court.

Jan-Hendrik Wessels has failed in his attempt to appeal the nine-week ban handed to him for allegedly groping Connacht’s Josh Murphy in the United Rugby Championship clash in Galway.

The suspension has proven highly controversial, with no video evidence to support Murphy’s claims.
