Frans Cronje reckons the ANC is just above 50 now (52%), which is absolutely maddening. On the brighter side, EFF collapsing to about 6%. DA stable in the 23-25% range. ANC + EFF well below the two-thirds majority, which is also excellent news.

It is fortuitous that we’re talking today because I’ve received the most recent batch of polling numbers over the last couple of days. It’s importamt to understand a few things about them: sample size is about 1500 people, where the previous sample we shared with you was based on 3200 respondents. Our margin of error on these numbers, on the national numbers, is about 4%. So my advice to people who hear the numbers is, don’t cling to a specific figure, rather read the figures as indicative of trends, and I think they’re very good at that. We’ve got the ANC modelled for turnout. So assuming an actual election at 52%, that is up marginally from the 49, 50% that we had it on about six or eight months ago. The DA is steady at below 25%, around 23, 24%. That’s largely where it was.

Were they not below 40% just recently?

They are on the up and up. DA only got 20.8% in 2019 due to the damage of Mmusi's leadership. They are growing again to 23-25% which if replicated in 2024, would be their highest-ever percentage!

I started laughing when Cronje put IFP at around 6%. Since I've been saying this whole time, at the rate the IFP is blikseming the ANC in KZN, I wouldn't be surprised if they are at 6% on a national scale.

It would be their best result since 2004.

Mmusi is credited with losing votes to the FF+ for his stance on equity and redress. Those losses have continued even after he left and the latest mauling these past local elections came from ASA as well as the FF+. It's been 4 years and the DA aren't in better than before they gave him the ol' heave ho. Instead Zille seems to have decided that trying to win the black vote is an exercise in futility. A feat at which she actually succeeded quite a bit before her kissing brain fart and parachuting in black leaders experiments.

People will look for the dumbest reasons not to incl. (on of the comments in the thread) John blocking people on social media and the usual "low EQ" bullshit... And ignore the reasons they should...

The problem with Gogo is that she will also look for a million reasons to blame the voters instead of taking accountability and admitting to the DA failures.

Wouldn't it be a refreshing change to hear her not blaming voters and actually admitting, we messed up here and could have done things much better?

ASA has plummeted according to Cronje to an insignificant 3-4% of the vote (I remember Dawie cheerleading for the ASA saying it would be a threat to the DA, lol. Only if they got 8-10% next year would I sit up and take notice). This is mainly due to Mashaba's plummeting approval ratings. As Cronje said, ASA got a 'new party boost' in 2021, but given their weird shenanigans where they seem to criticise the DA more than the ANC, you got to believe the falling ASA vote is benefiting the DA here.

Yeah, Mashaba is trapped, by now everyone should have seen through the ruse when the DA pulled a fast one on him by spoiling their votes instead of voting for an ActionSA candidate.
