Legal liability? And you wonder why PA is getting all the votes?

The children cannot go to school because the bridge is washed away, government is nowhere to be found, but legal liability?

People are out of options and are resorting to taking matters in their own hands by fixing stuff, they have no choice but to make things work and the EFF is there to help, continue to talk legal liability from up there, no one cares.

For a community, its one thing to take matters into their own hands and fix stuff..

Once the political party gets involved publicly, then they assume a level of legal liability when the bridge fails and potentially takes a family or some children with it.

I 100% applaud the community for doing something, but for the EFF to stand up and crow about it, well thats just fscking stupid.

**EDIT** For an added bit of context, for the EFF to demonstrate its commitment to govern, it needs to demonstrate its ability to understand legal liability, regulations, standards etc etc etc. And clearly it understands NONE of those judging by the picture.

Guess it's two-pronged then...

If it isn't Gogo blaming, then some voters find the dumbest reasonable explanations to not vote for DA...

I remember a while back (I think a year or two ago), that Ol' Sihle Zikalala pronounced that we should move to a parliamentary democracy (which means Parliament uber alles and no solid Constitution). I wonder if this opinion is prevalent in the ANC... Cause going by their attacks on the Constitution...

It seems the ANC will ramp up this shite in the run-up for next year.

They are still too confused. You have guys like Alen Winde still trying to replica the worst of western leaders. He is basically a Justin Trudeau without the facepaint, a progressive socialist democrat.
And John doesn't have the balls to fully commit to classical liberalism, or he is too stupid to understand what that is.

Regular voters don't completely understand the theory behind this, but they can just feel that the DA is confused.

That’s why you only do this in communities where they can’t afford a lawyer.

That's where the difference between voters and leaders should be seen, seems there isn't much difference between them and Zille, which says a lot.

Well, at a glance and guess I would say it isn't a bridge technically, just a culvert. The seeming single skin of unreinforced hollow blocks seems pre bowed already so they won't last long retaining that height of soil (around 1,5m I would say). The cover on the precast concrete pipes seems inadequate; usually it would be a minimum of 450mm. But it could prove me wrong and survive for 100 years.

Not a engineer but, They just replaced what was already there. It's not horrible, okay for a very rural dirt road crossing some seasonal stream.(if they compacted the dirt in the middle properly.)

On par with the ANC bragging about successfully building a longdrop.

Alan Winde is one of the better guys in the DA who can actually make the DA a good option for people outside "core electorate" areas.

Unlike Steenhuisen, he actually has a backbone and does not try to simp for the deplorables.
 
On point:

The time is ripe for the South African media to reflect deeply on the shameful role it has played in amplifying the voice of a small fascist party that participates in our parliamentary democracy with the intention only of subverting it. If the media had shaped its coverage of EFF and the far left’s antics with anything like the same degree of confident censoriousness that it handles other controversial issues, radical populism would not be the threat it has been.
