I don't get the logic tho... So now JS winning by 83% is somehow "oppressing black leaders" via Gogo?

The funny thing is if Phalatse was elected, the same people crying about JS, would find other things to cry about over the DA and/or they would mock Phalatse as another "experiment".
If you think about it there has never been a time when the DA has elected a leader without the shadow of The GodZille looming large in the background seeing to it that the right candidate according to her is elected, from Maimane to Steenhuisen, she is to the DA what Zuma is to the KZN ANC.

Yup. Your Nick Hedleys, media okes, etc demanded it and hammer on about "representativity". But bring up ANC or EFF's "representation" then the reasonable explanations tumble out.

And apparently, according to the way these people hammer on about "black leaders" and how if there aren't enough in top leadership then black people will never won't vote for them and so on, they seem to imply that black people will only ever vote for black people...? (they'll never admit to this tho) I don't know about you, but I take that as a bit racist.

But then again it's how wokes operate, covert racists with a splash of insincere virtue...

The other parties will be fine with whatever the DA comes up with, it's ActionSA which is a problem in that coalition, they just don't want to accept the DA as the Boss. They will come around though, they will be grumble kick the tables and scream, but they will still be part of the moonshot pact.
For once, I agree with you.

ASA keeps screaming about how the DA mustn't be "arrogant" and try to lead the coalition and how everyone must be equal. But shortly afterwards, they act like they call the shots in the said coalition.

I think it boils down to spite over the past, Mashaba is still sore over JHB 2016, Michael is still sore over John stealing his wife, etc...

Its a good point. The DA are targeting power but their policies are so wishy-washy- they are trying to appease everyone, and it comes across as disingenuous and schitzoprenic. They seem more focused at the moment on power than solving SA's problems.

For instance:

-Their BEE policy- They dont agree with BEE in its current form, but agree with AA (or EE)- but also state that race is a major determinant of economic status in SA and must be recognized.
-Their social grant policy- They state that social grants are not sustainable- but also feel that its needed in SA.
-Their coalition stance and partners (which seem to change everyday).

All of that was in his speech, but then again, why am I not surprised about the crying...

At least, he didn't accuse him of perpetuating a "neo swart gevaar"...

Not only that, this idiot doesn't seem to understand that removing the ANC would solve most of those issues, k#k dom.

Because it's true, but the key to solving that isn't with hacky race-based policies.

Not at the current amount of people on grants... 18 million, if I remember correctly. 30% of the population is on grants. Having that many people without jobs (those who can work anyway) solely relying on the state for income, is unsustainable both for the state and the population.

I don't get how you think it's conflicting. You can support social grants, but you can also see that it is unsustainable at its current rate when an extremely high percentage of the population has to rely on them...

Another set of by-elections today, and some of them aren't of the boring kind.

Tshwane - Ward 105. 2021 election results (biggest three parties):
1680677771649.png

Prediction: ANC hold.
Merafong Ward 16. 2021 election results (biggest four parties):

1680677846104.png

Prediction: DA hold as the FF has not fielded a candidate for this by-election.

UMvoti [KZN] Ward 6:
IFP won this ward with 47% of the vote in 2021. Given the current strength of the IFP in KZN, I expect the IFP to hold here.

AbaQulusi [KZN] Ward 12: ANC won this ward with 57% of the vote, however it is located within a municipality where the IFP completely dominated the ANC by 45% to 31%.

Prediction: Unsure.

Nongama [KZN] Ward 11. The IFP won this with 59% of the vote in 2021.

Prediction: IFP Hold.

Mkhondo [Mpumalanga]: Wards 1, 2, and 19.

ANC stronghold here. They won wards 1,2 and 19 with 54%, 67% and 74% of the vote respectively.

Prediction: ANC holds all three wards.

Dipaleseng [Mpumalanga]: Ward 5.

ANC won this ward with 48% of the vote. I guess there is a possibility of an EFF upset, but don't think so.

Prediction: ANC hold.
Victor Khanye [Mpumalanga]: Ward 4
The ANC won this ward with 59% of the vote, and the EFF don't appear to be strong in this municipality.

Prediction: ANC hold.

They wont come out and outright shoot BEE- they know that would be alienating the black electorate- but they know that supporting BEE will alienate its minority electorate.

I do feel its schitzophrenic.

Reminds me of those MyBBBigots. They "support" transgender rights, just not on the sportsfield. So wanting to appear left but hard right in reality

The DA: We don't think social grants are sustainable
Also the DA in Feb 2023: We will make permanent an unemployed persons grant of R585 if we come to power.

The DA: We don't think social grants are sustainable at the current rate of people on grants, we must lower the amount of people on grants by kickstarting the economy and creating jobs.
Also the DA in Feb 2023: We will make permanent an unemployed persons grant of R585 if we come to power, but only if we as a nation can afford it.
