Jeez that oke isn't white, he's red...
But I wonder if South Africans are just addicted to complaining, because what Smith is doing looks like a good thing to me, yes it won't solve all the problems but there isn't a single solution for crime.

That's the ANC for you. Even that councillor whose videos of him having sex with young boys only got disciplinary started against him after he got arrested. It seems the ANC low bar doesn't allow them to hold their members to any sort of standard. So, if this rapist can somehow get rid of the witnesses he'll be free to carry on as a councillor. It is not uncommon for them to buy off the complainant or even kill them off.
Or in the case of Zuma, send them to a different country.

Looks like he is an even bigger buffoon than I thought, you would think he would have thought about that when he was still in the purple cow.

A party that is never going to go past 5% like the Freedom Front is the future? Even the IFP is yet to catch up to their original numbers.

In short:

His point is that the DA have gone into coalition with "gangster parties" before as they had to do to win Cape Town initially. He cites Helen Zille's book as reference.

He feels the DA actually view PA as a threat to their votes and the other reasons are a cop out.

He feels a more better strategy from the DA to contain the PA would have been to give them the mayorship and then demand some positions and then try to expose them.

No because they are not getting the mayorship under ANC EFF. That's not how negotiations work. You just don't offer them what they want. The PA made a ridiculous demand, so you can negotiate down and offer them Deputy of some irrelevant department.

People seem to want this money to go directly to solve crime, when there is no quick fix to the bollocks on the Flats. Yes shot-monitors won't solve the crime but it will help the city build an accurate map of gang activity which will allow them to focus the resources.

I know most of the criticism directed at government is justified but maybe taking time off from all the complaining to do a little bit of self reflection now and again from communities would not be such a bad thing,

Agreed... there are huge social issues in terms of how people "admire" these elements but then want to complain about crime (and other things)

Wonder how far Ramaposers 1 million in 5 years is doing

JOHANNESBURG - Eyewitness News learned how it has taken seven months for the Free State government to construct just three show houses to present to 186 people displaced by the Jagersfontein dam disaster.
Free State Premier Mxolisi Dukwana explained that the delays in construction of 160 homes was due to two contradictory toxicity reports.

So the delay is bollocks, but what is this building 3 show houses for the community to choose what they want crap?

If its a case of they're going to choose 1 and then build 160 of the same, then just present a set of plans to the community and they must choose one.

According to reports, Phalatse accused Gwamanda of being a scammer and gave him 48 hours to admit to the claims that he was involved in a Ponzi scheme with many victims. The allegations were made in a statement on Friday night.

Let's see who blinks first.
