The SA Politics Thread Part 3

The national government is still trying to figure out how to stop power stations from tripping. Fresh clean drinking water is light years ahead of them.
National government is only capable of breathing in and out. They (ANC/Cabinet/NEC/Lootfreely House) don't have the brain capacity to run a first world country.

That's what they have been doing since 1994. They inherited a proper first world country that has been running itself on auto pilot all this time, but at the end of the day, even auto pilot reaches its limits.

Wow a mayor (or more likely someone on his staff) responding on a Friday night on Twitter. Impressive GHL!

Just a very obvious flat out lie by the DA. The sidewalks form part of the road servitude and is not part of the adjacent property. Any municipality can clean up or do any kind of work they wish on a sidewalk.

Any mayor should know this, I do not believe he is just ignorant.
The hobos camping on the sidewalk can be removed.

I still cannot get my low IQ brain to comprehend the R12m figure, is a book that expensive or some of the money was a retainer for Prince to keep on writing favorable articles about Mashaba going towards the election?
Or just another money laundering avenue. One that gives you a tax break.

Prove it. If you’re so sure about this.

I just did.

Step 1 Look at the video.
Step 2 see the stone boundary wall where the property ends.
Step 3 notice the homeless encampment on the outside of the boundary wall on the sidewalk.

Sidewalks everywhere forms part of the road reserve and belongs to the municipality (if the road belongs to the municipality). If this is some truly wierd exception to the rule or it is a nation road that belongs to SANRAL, which I highly doubt in the city, it is not my job to prove it.

This is the problem with DA fan boys. They are just as stupid as ANC supporters. (Or even worse)

ANC when something goes wrong.
Option 1. Blame Apartheid
Option 2. Blame white people in some other way, WMC, Jan, colonialism, whatever.
Option 3. Find a way to profit off it, create a large inflated tender to fix the problem.

DA when something goes wrong.
Option 1. blame the ANC
Option 2. Blame the ANC indirectly. It national gov. Corruption. Anything.
Option 3. Give an ANC BEE tenderpreneur money to fix it through a highly inflated tender.

It's entirely possible to be an ANC and a DA tenderpreneur at the same, there's no law that stipulates you can only play for one team.

"The Castle and land around it is owned by the Department of Defense, and we cannot act on their land"

I mean it's right there in his response, lol.

Why are you guys trolling Rietrot? the sidewalk is not part of the land arout the castle, it is municipal property, he is simply saying the municipality can do something about that.

That area is part of the castle.

Given the age of the castle and all that, I can actually believe even the sidewalk is DoD property... Things were done differently back then.

Maybe back then but I would be very surprised if the necessary handover was not done ages ago, imagine what a mess it would be for the city and service providers in terms of infrastructure.

I have a feeling that the mayor was speaking in general here pertaining to the actual property, the sidewalk will most probably be something they can deal with.

I have seen some areas that have been cleaned up but it's still an ongoing issue, the one around the Castle is a major eyesore for people driving into town so there is no reason they wouldn't do it if they could.
