That's pretty good. Sadly I don't think that many kids born after 2000 would be able to say much about that speech.

Strange. How will EFF be able to create common policies, etc with parties that are the anti-thesis of everything they stand for, anyway?

Seems like CiC is trying to play victim here...

I know what he is trying to do, he is feeling that his future is not too secured with the ANC, with President Shipokosa having his own troubles so he is looking to give himself options by telling the DA that he is available.

He knows that the Moonshot is still divided on the EFF, so he is planning to capitalize on that, he does not want to lose his kingmaker status.

He must go balls deep in the ANC. The DA is right to tell him to get lost. Too many flip flops to be a reliable partner, but you can’t flip flop when you only have one lover.

It's a ploy, his problem is very simple, if he loses the hold he has on the DA by always being available to give them the power they need, he is going to be very vulnerable to the ANC.

His modus operandi is to be in bed with one party while always having that hold that he can leave any time on them, if one between the DA and the ANC tells him to get lost he loses his power.

All that about common policies is overrated, at the end power is power, if he maintains his position he can give the DA the Presidency and the power they so desperately need, knowing fully well he can yank it any time.

It's complicated though, can the DA say thanks but no thanks if he votes for them to get the Presidency? I mean they still govern with the help of the EFF in some municipalities, and you know how it works, once they take the power he has given them it becomes very difficult to let go and the coalition falls apart.

I am looking forward to see how it all going to play out, but it's a sign that he is feeling slightly vulnerable, he must know something.

The less the DA entertain him, the less power he has. And the best thing for the DA is to deprive him of power. I'm a DA voter, and I think most of the DA core are with me when we say, rather be in the opposition, than be pandering to that stupid p0es.

I.e. Flip flop between the coalitions when he doesn't get his way on either side.

That's the problem if parties can't create common policies/common ground then that coalition would be doomed from the start, no?

I'd hazard a guess that 99.9999% of DA voters want nothing to do with the EFF and it will be a complete failure of DA leadership to get into bed with the devil. In core DA wards, the EFF barely gets into triple figures in raw number of votes that sometimes have up to 12 000 voters. So even people who may switch from the DA to another party aren't at all interested in the EFF.

Yup, it would be simply stupid to have a repeat of 2016, where the DA unironically trusts EFF and goes into coalition with them (vast differences aside), and where EFF leaves them to die afterwards...

Also, DA voters would want nothing to do with EFF okes, for obvious reasons and vice versa.

It seems at least it's off the table for now. It seems Moonshot is the plan, if it fails, DA might go to ANC (which I still think would be a bad idea unless they can realistically block EFF and truly implement reforms and such), although I'd rather have DA sit on the opposition...

The nice thing is that by cutting him off, the DA also show the ANC that they don't need to treat him like a kingmaker. They can treat him like a tea boy.

I don't know but it's good to see that Pappas is still alive and can mingle in hostile crowd without any fear that Sbonido Duma is going to kill him.
