It could be some MMCs? He can't possibly take the whole entourage with him.

My guess at this point is that the puppet was told to make himself scarce so Kenny can be "Mayor" and then when they put him forward as a mayor after the next no-confidence vote the ANC/EFF can go after the Coalition for not voting for a mayor who gets things done.

Gwamanda or whatever his name is a mayor in rubberstamp only so why does he need Kenny to act when he's in Cape town for the weekend? It's not like the ANC and EFF needed anything signed that he couldn't have done before he left.

Interesting... Wonder why it took so long for them to come up with this little bit of info.

Its as if they actually didn't know where the mayor was until late yesterday evening.

Clowning or not, I am sure the DA, led by the man snatcher would be shouting at the top of their voices about how leaderless Joburg is if he just left and never put anyone in charge.

It states this in the article.
Protocol states that when a mayor leaves town, he appoints an acting mayor to take over his duties for the duration of his trip.

Maybe it has been there all along? I honestly never cared to find out before, I just asked here on the forum.

But at least we now know he is not scared of the DA and their 48hrs, for a moment there I felt slightly let down.

Well the original "explanation" about his bodyguards for one of his no-shows did show that he is scared of something... probably his own damn party members in all honesty.

What work? Hendrik potgieter has taken 6 months to repair, there is a, section close to Wilgeheuwel Hospital that washed away and hasn't be repaired, there are potholes everywhere, the storm water drains all broken, plants growing out of them along Ysterhout
JHB looks like a post apocalyptic city
