The ANC like to preach unity but in reality it's all factious under the banner of the ANC. Mashatile isn't on Ramaphosa's faction and knows Mashatile is making a play for his position. It's no secret that Mashatile has been mobilising and meeting with business leader in anticipation of his ascension when Ramaphosa goes probably next year.

What's worse is that this would be a clever Zuma. Zuma showed everyone that mass looting can be done without consequence if you're careful to coopt and destroy, and the next rogue in line is just going to perfect it.

He said no former president has had to deal with the aftermath of crippled institutions because of state capture, and another unexpected nightmare for his term was the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ramaphosa said:

The period I became president is possibly the most challenging period that any president in the democratic era has ever faced. No other president has faced the challenges that not only I faced, but the whole country faced.
Without going into detail, he said he counted at least 14 hurdles that had impeded his presidency.

"Then you had Covid-19, and then you had the July unrest, you name them all. I would say that in terms of dealing with issues, we are making progress to rebuild state capabilities," Ramaphosa said.

"State capture - none of my predecessors dealt with it. State capture, in more ways than one, really broke down the state's capability in a variety of ways to the point that various state institutions could not function as they should have.

This is basically saying that State Capture left the country’s institutions weaker than apartheid (otherwise why is his job harder than Mandela’s?).

Blaming the global scam isn't going to win any brownie points from me. As for the struggling economy and state capture. The man was an integral part of that so he can't complain after the fact

You were part of the State Capture setup so the bed you lie in now is partly of your own making... and you aren't helping to make it any better by your "Party unity" bollocks either.

I messaged him to use DP time to write a book but he ignored me back then. He could have finished 4 books by now. Andre turned out to be way too cleva than President. Andre for President.

Why would the ANC President Ramaposer go anywhere next year? I didn't know there were any ANC conferences anytime soon.

How is it that Ramaphosa was completely oblivious to all these challenges when he made his promises?
