First the airline meltdown and now this, lol. Something isint right. He was also issuing cringe comments in the comments section after the airline incident.

If even Brit disagreed with him, it proves that something is wrong.

Although I get what he was trying to say (that Kill the Boer only inflames racial tensions and divides and incites SA), "cowering from each other" is a tad extreme...

It doesn't even do that, it totally does not incite South Africa, at most it incites some few people on one side as well as the attention whores who are bored and thrives on this kind of thing, there is a frenzy on Twitter which will blow over in a couple of days.

South Africans in general have outgrown the kind of racial hatred Malema is trying sow and have plenty things they are preoccupied with, it was a normal school day on Monday, the children did not come to school and avoided their friends because Malema sang kill the Boer, they happily played along with their multi racial friends.

Workplaces were normal, people got along with the business of the day, same with every sphere of life you can imagine. Banyana Banyana proceeded to the next round, and people celebrated, that is what South Africa looks like.

Of course the regular crime we have unfortunately also continued, some farmers were killed, convenient enough because Malema sang the song, those who believe that the victims would have been spared if it wasn't for the song would be John's crowd, they are the type who cowers in fear at other races.

I'd say we still have some way to go, but yes at least most people are better than that.

I still maintain my stance, the song only divides, incites a section of the pop and spreads racial hatred.

If the old flag could be dealt with, so should that song too. Neither has a place in our democracy. And no amount of "but it's from the struggle :crying:" explanations (like I've seen on Twitter) can justify it, just like no amount of "But actually it was used pre-48, so it's fine" could justify using the old flag either...

On that note, I see we're playing Netherlands next... If we were to lose, it would be hilarious to see EFF stans somehow try to blame the loss on the Whites...

P.S. You should check out the Netball World Cup games, the stands are always packed to back the Proteas.

P.P.S. It seems at least that sport is one of the few things that truly manages to unite all of SA.

Don't agree with this actually. It may bring superficial unity for a short space of time but that is about it.

A significant percentage of SA was also backing the ABs in the 95 RWC final which Invictus ignored but I get that they were trying to make money from the movie.

Yeah, if Mashaba wants that project to continue, he must find a successor sooner rather than later. Beaumont is a clever politician (his ads at the DA last time were pretty funny tbh) but he is probably not leadership material, maybe a deputy leader or head of propaganda.
