But what will this dialogue lead to though, can it lead to a change in the laws that can respond to the current challenges or is it just something that will depend on the goodwill of parties?

EFF isn't interested in truly governing, they just want to loot...
I think it might lead to a consensus amongst participants and of course, legislation brought before Parliament. That's what I think anyway.
If ANC and everyone else actually find a middle ground, it could lead to actual coalition legislation. Hell, even ANC and others backing the DA's proposed legislation...
From a quick glance at the attendees, ANC, DA, GOOD, VF+, IFP, ASA and VF+ are there.

Essentially confirming the ANC will back a threshold. If it is a Constitutional amendment that's needed... ANC + DA > 66%.

Open ended statements like when the law is broken are very useless, what exactly is the definition of that? Because it can take years to determine if a law was broken, they must just come out and say what they mean.

It makes sense tha the 2 largest parties back this. Raising the threshold tends to help large parties and hurt small parties.
