Slightly off topic, it pleases me greatly that this thread is more popular than those American threads, getting to the fourth iteration is nie pap en vleis, keep it up everyone.
We need to thank DA's laptop boys. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't know much about DA's accomplishments as John is rather shy to shout from rooftops.

Oh.. the other thread is over? Wasn’t keeping an eye on post count.

Anyway..

Elections around the corner just about. Things are going to get crazy in our political landscape the closer we get to May.
Yeah, its going to get very mental and very ugly this time around I think.
Thirded (or whatever the proper grammar is).

I think this might be the wildest run-up to an election since 1994...

TBH, I think this will be even worse than the run up to 94.

The results in 94 were pretty much a foregone conclusion in my opinion... this time around many parties are fighting for their very lives and access to the trough.

Am I the only one who finds John Steenhuisen uninspiring, cheesy, and full of himself? I roll my eyes a lot when I read a quote from him or listen to him speak. He is very close to Cyril Ramaphosa levels of unbearable.

You're not the only one. He's all over the place. Sometimes tries to act cool (McG) but, mostly leaping before he looks at various issues of the day. Just blows where the winds/Zille takes him.

I would say I see John a smarmy like most politicians.

Speaking of, what is Helen's role in the DA exactly? I know her title doesn't suggest she is part of the day-to-day stuff, but she still has massive influence.

Among politicians, I find Maimane & Zille more bearable than others.
