Malema looking for scapegoats

Some EFF members who are on the party's candidate lists for parliament and provincial legislatures but did not pull their weight during its election campaign will not become MPs.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, EFF leader Julius Malema was unhappy with some party members who were picked to represent the party as MPs and MPLs, saying they failed to work during the campaign season to ensure the party garnered more votes in Wednesday’s elections.

Shocked I am shocked. Not making any more predictions that is for sure. Interesting comment was that the MK vote numbers even surprised the MK leadership and the elections have given WC property prices a boost. Will we soon need fire extinguishers in KZN?

GP will be interesting. Panyaza "It is plane? No!" Lesufi will probably refuse to work with DA.

Yeah, if we see a national GNU 2 gov, we might see it in KZN. But MK will then probably burn the province down.

He went even as far to say okes who left EFF for MK, were "never ours". The cope is palpable.
 
"There is a rule in our political party that a leader does not negotiate a deal that would implicate him in any way, and that’s why he’s delegated this to the federal executive. The federal executive made the decision today [Sunday] to appoint a panel of people who are experienced, who can essentially start to also look at how best we can put the interests of South Africans first."

Something I've wondered about is we okes have always contended that either Hill-Lewis or Pappas will be the next leader of DA...

But we're missing Gwarube. I genuinely think she'll be a good option/contender for it in 2026...

I think Pappas has another 10 years in KZN to build his support base and experience before he gets elevated to the upper echelons of DA leadership, he's still a lightey.

Hill-Lewis is probably in a similar boat, but maybe he will be region limited somewhat and remain a WC heavy weight for the DA.

Winde would be the experienced hand but it seems he's not acceptable in the DA. Both Pappas and HL pretty still wet behind the ears. And it is in the DA's benefit to have them at municipal level making a difference where people can see. HL is even less politician than Pappas.

100% agreed, I think Winde would be classed more as a technocrat than a politician and is probably not a great fit at the national level, especially now when things will be "complicated" and require a deft political hand.

Good point. That's why I thought of Gwarube (she's on DA's negotiations team).

I'd hazard a guess that "not acceptable" is probably a bit over the top in terms of language, but Winde is older and he probably also has an air about him that wouldn't necessarily go over well with the voters the DA needs to attract.
