It is a very different game.

Both the DA and ANC are large parties with a lot to lose. They have to make it work. 1 seat specials don’t have the same incentive. They know their members will elect them regardless of the performance.

I am cautiously optimistic.

I don’t think a merger can or should happen. They need to remain independent parties with separate portions of the electorate.

Reason being is that success in government wont cause one party to be eaten up.

This was the danger the IFP had with the ANC in the past, is that they appealed to overlapping portions of the electorate.

ANC should now strategically ignore the Zulu nationalist votes and let the IFP fill that space. This is after all what got them into the Zuma mess in the first place.

My take is that he is not a police minister material. He is going to fail miserably at it and will constantly need the DA's cover and protection as he messes up left and right.

Too emotional and noisy for no reason.

I watched all the 2 min speaches but FF through the president speech and skipped the praying stuff after that. I see PAC and Aunty Pat @ GOOD skipped their speeches as well. I guess they don't give a **** about their constituents. @doctorwho must be so disappointed with his GOOD vote.

She is happy she got enough suckers to vote for her to get her the seat she needed to not have to hang beg for food anymore.

Talking about qualifications, MEC Winde has not retained the former MEC of health in the Western Cape who had qualifications and experience in the health industry, he replaced her with someone who has no background in Health and no qualifications related to health, so does qualifications really matter or is it just something that's brought up when it's convenient?

At 44 votes I'd actually be pretty confident in saying some of his own probably didn't vote for him, or they spoiled their ballot paper on purpose.
