The NP won the Western Cape with a majority in 1994, got cabinet seats, got into coalition with the ANC...Sounds familiar...

Coalitions were there in many forms until 1933 when SAP (Smuts) and Hertzog (OG NP) merged to form UP.

Then only again in 1948 - 1951, the coalition which brought NP to power with Afrikaner Party (merged later on).

And 1994 was a coalition but in name, since ANC won 65%...

So its the first time in about 100 years that there's a proper coalition gov nationally.

He can try. Nobody is tolerating that schit anymore. This time he will see blood - of his own people.

The only move he has left is to disband his party to try and create a crisis and force new elections...
