That's entirely up to the ANC who think they still can run things like they own the place.

Not quite. The stipulation is 5 years after completion of sentence.

I guess they want equality before the law. Something supposedly enshrined in our constitution.
 
It's official they've signed.


The FF Plus announced on Thursday afternoon that it has decided to join the GNU. FF Plus leader Pieter Groenewald said in a statement that they have signed the statement of intent after careful consideration. He said the party will use this opportunity to advance and implement the mandate from its voters to save South Africa from ruin.

Thank the Lord! We we're all doomed without them!!

On a slightly more serious note, I guess the more parties are included, the more legitimacy it gives to the GNU. We'll have to wait and see how long it last though.

We need to isolate and label him accordingly. The reason why this needs to happen is because you want the words "racist" and "white" to be disassociated. It's difficult to explain, but if you do not label white/black/coloured/indian people who behave like this as racists or something similar, then they will be seen as a representation of the wider group. Then you can kiss race relations and GNU's goodbye.

This guy may have changed, but an example must be made as a demonstration of unity. We are at a critical point in this country's story.
 
It's definitely positive to have more parties, isolates the so called "progressive caucus" which is fast becoming MKP only with a very non committal EFF.
Also as you mentioned adds the legitimacy by it having larger Voter % been represented.

As well as spreading the risk, many voices many options on issues. Hopefully keeping the GNU going.
Starting off big means if small parties leave its not really the end of the GNU
