What happened in Tshwane, did they manage to get over their differences?
That's very good, now down to business. I have a keen interest in Tshwane because it is such a dump and nothing much happened during the first term.
Check DA/ASA's sites or the munis themselves for a full briefing? Can someone point me in the right direction on where I can read up about these budgets and what it really means.
Well, if the budget has passed it means that the "united front" govs agreed on a budget and then tabled it to the council to vote on it. Naturally, the coalition would put their seats behind it and it would pass. Otherwise like in EKH, the coalition needs outside support to pass it (still surprised by the EFF playing ball there). If the budget was passed; does that mean everyone has agreed to spend the allocated amounts on the various projects
Local taxpayers, events that the muni gets a cut for, etc.and lastly where is the money coming from?
Local taxpayers, events that the muni gets a cut for, etc.
Perhaps provincial coffers.Yeah I figured as much. But 77 billion? - I thought some of it would come from national coffers.
National and provincial government also assists with funds.Check DA/ASA's sites or the munis themselves for a full briefing?

You are right, some of it comes from national and provincial, there are municipalities who are incapable of generating their own revenue so those are almost 100 % dependent on provincial, and national government.Yeah I figured as much.
