The thing is that the journalists all know perfectly well what the DA's policies are. They just don't like them. Therefore they almost never write about them, often ignore them, and sometimes even claim that the DA doesn't have any policies . The role of journalists should be to articulate the DA's policies as JS has explained them. Whether the policies differ with their leftist views should be irrelevant (e.g. leftists believe that race should be a determinant for everything).

It's unfortunate that these journalists have a stranglehold on the public discourse. Take a look at how many people expressed positive surprise at JS's explanation of the DA's policies. These are not new policies - they have been like that ever since I can remember. But because the media refuse to acknowledge them, they may as well not exist.

We need to call out the mainstream media for their terribly biased reporting which often directly affects election results. Most probably don't even do it consciously - I blame their poor training and even worse editors. Except in cases like Ferial Haffajee and Ranjeni Munusamy who are / were known ANC stooges and have actual biases yet still some head up large newsrooms (e.g. Haffajee at Daily Maverick).
Agree completely but, and it may only be my perception, but previously serial Cyril lovers and DA haters like Peter Bruce at BD and Rebecca Davis at DM seem to have toned down the repetitive rhetoric of DA bad, Cyril good.

Other commentators have at least eased towards criticising the ANC regime more openly even though they hesitate (refuse) to recommend supporting the DA.

You're not alone. Those who supported Cyril the most have now started to turn their backs on the ANC and Cyril after Phala Phala.

And to make an example Peter Bruce has started to warm up to the DA ever so slightly.

It does seem that the analysts and media are starting to see the ANC how everyone else does and turning their backs on them, although they're still super hesitant/reluctant to outright support the opposition.

But, in Nelson Mandela Bay, the ANC had to remove the mayor, Eugene Johnson, if the party wanted support from the EFF.

"We are more than prepared to vote with the ANC. We are not going to vote with the DA because the DA does not want us. And they make it very clear they do not want us. We will only vote with the DA, where our local structures have technical relationships.

"In Nelson Mandela Bay, we will not vote with the DA. And if the ANC is not going to remove the mayor and put in a proper candidate, we will abstain," Malema said.
Oh boy...
The party will likely flex its muscle even more in the coming weeks because Malema said the ANC's newly elected leaders in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal had approached the party for support.
There it is...

But we know Malema can flip flop at anytime so... IDK. But it doesn't bode well.

I assume the result of today's meeting will be mentioned. I hope for the sake of SA and the related metros. That the coalitions hold.

Tshwane Mayor Randall Williams survives removal bid, partners push for independent probe into power supply deal
The DA and it’s coalition partners have agreed to a 60-day independent investigation to probe Tshwane Mayor Randall Williams and city of Tshwane officials’ handling of an unsolicited R26 billion power supply investment proposal.
The proposal will no longer be considered as part of unsolicited bid but will now form part of a competitive bidding process, a call previously made by the DA’s coalition partner ActionSA, the EFF and ANC. Williams will now face an investigation and following an agreement between coalition partners, any bid to remove him will be prevented from succeeding by the coalition at Tshwane’s council.
With ActionSA’s by-in any motion of no confidence brought by the ANC is unlikely to succeed without ActionSA’s support.
- Zintle Mahlati
The coalitions hold for now. Williams will be investigated for the next two months by an independent entity. The "unsolicited bid" is now a competitive bidding process.

ANC's motion will be shot down, and the coalition including ASA will vote against such motions for the time being.

If Williams is found guilty of interference and the things ASA accuse him of, fine, good riddance to him and should be punted into the sun. If found innocent, some apologies are in order.
