From what we now know, the coalition will vote against the motion in Tshwane. They have a majority there, so it should hold. JHB is also a majority coalition, so Mpho should be ok.

But the problem comes in with Ekhuruleni and Mogale City, there are minority governments there. And if Malema doesn't flip-flop again, they'll fall to ANC/EFF coalitions (godspeed to those areas then).

It seems the ex won't go after him with charges at least:

Paywalled.
What would the charges have looked like even if she wanted to? Crimen injuria?

I can totally understand though, maybe all she wants is to live her life, It was a moment of weakness from John to drag her into the public domain with his joke, especially looking at the fact that he cheated on her, even the current wife wouldn't be too impressed. The DA women wading into this just makes things worse, imagine if the ANC women's league also decides to get involved? This would have just died its own natural death if it was just left as is.

The DA is in crisis again!

I won't get started on my ex ...

Good for her. SA taxpayers cannot foot the medical bill for all of Africa. Disgusting that the DA is just blindly playing the opposition and calling it xenophobia for the sake of it without addressing the real problem of illegal immigration and the ANCs failure to secure our borders.

100%, Even the Mashaba is in on playing opposition politics, I am starting to see why we are in the state we are in, South Africans are a bunch who don't love their country, sure the ANC put us in this mess but we still have a good chance of getting things right but politicians are only interested in being politicians.

Exactly, and it's possible that the joke didn't even phase her.

I mean how long has it been since the cheating? Twelve years?

He did admit that it was a bad joke and he was also forthcoming about the cheating on MacG's show. So honestly, this was a non-starter but naturally, it would be latched onto by the usual suspects in the media.

Sure, the MEC has a point that it is not ok that we have to foot the medical bills for illegals. That's fine. But what's the point of taking a random person to task over it? And secondly, our public healthcare system isn't near moertoe because of the illegals alone, it links back to the sheer incompetence of the ANC's rule.

That's the big problem. Sure, we have a problem with illegals and it must be addressed, they can have effects on some systems, but we can't blame all of the foreigners (legal and illegal) for the breakdown of all our systems... We can't scapegoat them for what the ANC ****ed up beyond comparison.

We all know the ANC is incompetent and stupid.
Vote better next time.

Seabe said those who were no longer “eating” were using all kinds of tactics to get back into power.

“The residents of Joburg are starting to see and feel the difference since the multi-party government’s R77.3-billion budget kicked in on 1 July. This political administration will finish its five-year term, even if it is not to the desire of our political opponents.

“What is also a problem for our political opponents is that we are repairing and rebuilding Joburg. Service delivery is taking centre stage. On 29 September, the multi-party government will report back to the six million residents on the work we have done over the last nine months,” he said. DM

He did? Was it an apology or just an admission that it was a bad joke? I honestly wouldn't call it a non starter or something being latched on by the usual suspects because it's John from the DA, I don't think it's a big deal because it's John, it would have been a big deal for any public figure.

I think perhaps the stage got to him because I can totally see such a joke being made at a braai with your friends, not on a public platform like that.

I'm still trying to figure out how you can give R50 million to Cuba because they're "struggling" while your own countrymen are suffering themselves...
It happens, something to do with Diplomatic relations, that's why Western Countries give billions of money to Africa, it doesn't mean there is no one suffering in their countries.
