This. Many analysts have said that the ANC will try to discredit coalitions as much as possible so that people won't go to the "new alternative"/UF. We've seen the ANC doing this in recent months.
Yup, they still can't take that they couldn't get their majority back nor get a "founding" (first after the elections) coalition either. To them is about getting back to JHB's resources (the trough) so they can renew their "time to eat" subscriptions. Also, they can't take it that the UF is getting **** done, so when something happens, they just blame the UF for it as if they were the ones who governed the city for the previous two decades...
Keep in mind since losing the metros of TSH, EKH, NMB and JHB in 2016, the ANC never got their majority back in those areas. Last year, they lost Durban... So ANC will be desperate to hold on to them, using whatever means necessary...
