Which COPE?At this point, COPE will have to remove her or the UF might cease working with COPE in JHB.
Dangit, no more PPV boxing fight between Schreiber and the Baas...One positive for both the DA and ActionSA to come out of the ousting of DA Gama is that for once a week has gone by without them fighting over something, looks like both parties have found something else to be preoccupied about, I have not seen a Schreiber tweet about ActionSA in a while and I Beaumont also seem to be very quiet.
Maybe this will bring them closer again.
As a Joburg resident, I actually have a hard time telling the difference between ANC and DA-led administrations.
Of course, the union will back the ANC. Such a massive surprise...
Parliament 'concerned' about Zondo's statement that it might no be able to prevent future state capture
Parliament's presiding officers, National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and National Council of Provinces chairperson Amos Masondo will "engage" with Chief Justice Raymond Zondo at an "appropriate time" about his statements expressing doubt that Parliament will be capable of stopping another Gupta-style state capture.
Speaking at the News24 On The Record Summit last Thursday, Zondo criticised Parliament's failure to stop state capture.
In a statement, the presiding officers expressed their "concern" about the statement.
They said Parliament is awaiting President Cyril Ramaphosa's action plan on the Zondo Commission's findings.
"Parliament had, in the interim, also immediately implemented remedial measures on matters emerging from the reports which directly requires its action. Further analysis is being undertaken internally to ensure all matters emanating from the Report are given due regard," reads the statement.
"Only then can Parliament's commitment to ensure the implementation of remedial actions to root out the phenomenon of state capture and ensure preventative interventions, should be judged."
