The SA Vehicle Industry Thread

The purpose of my post was not to add value but it was a question.
The remainder of the content of my post was placed to qualify my question.

Now you please tell me why the Fusion is a poor seller. Try to do it in your own words.

Lol....Why must I.

It's captain obvious why.

Instead of being a S(troller) & constant moaner add value.

Anyhow...The reason is badge snobbery nothing else.

For executive sedans the Germans rule the roost in SA.

His point, if you follow the thread very closely, is that the Fusion is a regular in the bottom 10 sellers in SA as discussed in this thread on several occasions...

So after the thread has been idle for eleven days he posts a pic of a Fusion? So there was no point to it. Just a random post.

Come on Fiesta, you've been given the T-shirt already, no need to post whore if there's no point to being made.

Your pic added value? Seriously?

A newspaper has many pages.
There is the front page which shows the news of the day. It has sensation.. This causes people to buy the newspaper.
Then most people turn to page three. More scandal.
When you reach the editorial...That's where the guts lies!
It is not about facts; it is opinion.

A few pages later you have cartoons and comics.
These are found in many other publications.

And my dear Fiesta that is where you claim your fame.
I've not added value, I'm merely expressing my point of view.

Yeah as I said before, it's too expensive for a "Ford". For the price of the Fusion you could get an A3/A4 or an entry level A5, you could also get a 2 series or 3 series, A C-Class or CLA/GLA are also within grasp if you have the budget for a Fusion.

Edited: The VW Passat has the same problem.

How about we remove the off topic posts from the thread?

But you can't get the alliteration of Ford Fusion...

The ou toppie from which I bought the 407 today is very eager to take delivery of his new 2008 1.6 HDi this Friday. I wonder how many will sell in the launch month.

Looks like a decent enough upgrade. I'd probably take the Mokka-X instead though if it was my money.

Also for interest sake how old how was the ou toppie? Was he a nice bloke etc.
Very nice guy, he's 59 and his wife is two years younger, the are planning their retirement and the 2008 is part of the plan. They had a lot of cars for two people, Sportage, Matrix, 407, 307 cc, but he sold the last three this week.

As would I, but when I spoke to him about the cars he's owned so far, 50% of them were Pugs, so I guess that's why he's getting the 2008.

The thing is with the Passat, and I think with the Fusion as well, you get a lot more features for a little less money. I would rather have the features than the badge, and I doubt these cars are made worse than the big germans. And they all lose value very quickly anyway. And now the Fusion will have the added problem of being a Ford in the current Kuga/Ecosport mess.

Yes. I was just reading about VW just upped the spec of the new Passat. You'd basically be choosing between something full featured and something barebones with a nice badge. I usually try to take the full featured option one level down, than go a level up and have something bare bones. But that's just me.

Anyone knows how the not so cheap anymore Honda Civic is doing, especially the over 430k 1.5 turbo?

Rather poorly

Oh yes BTW the most underrated D-segment sedan is/was the Pug 508.

It's been pulled from the SA lineup but is an extremely competent vehicle.

My preference is to buy the Merc, but take a second hand one, for less than I could buy the VW.
